What’s New

Since the last City election, the following
changes to local campaign finance laws
have gone into effect:

•   Primary Election Date
    The California Legislature has moved
    the date of the primary election from
    March to June during years in which
    there is no presidential election. In 2022,
    the City’s primary election will be held
    on June 7, 2022.

•   Audits
    The percentages for committees being
    selected for audit have changed. For
    example, all primarily formed recipient
    committees that have raised $100,000
    or more will be audited.
