COURSES FACULTY DAY AND TIME LOCATION Famous Musicians of the Last Friday, Jan-April Trish Pressley INN-Living Room 20th Century • 10:00 AM Join Trish to explore the most famous musicians in the world during the 20th Century. She will play CD's of their music as she tells about their lives and contributions to the world of music! 1st & 3rd Thursday, Jan- Bread Making Michelle Johnson Gardens 1412 Apr • 3:00 pm Michelle will assemble and bake a variety of different breads in the Gardens' bread machine, with the help of all the residents in the class. Thursday, April 23rd • Bubble Solution Recipes Marsha Triplett Inn Dining Room 3:00 pm Marsha and the residents will make two different bubble solution recipes and discuss the science behind the different ingredients in each recipe. Then using different wands, we will try each recipe, see which one we like best, and have FUN! Tues, Mar 16th 3:00 • pm Town Center Making Easter Wreaths K Barger Tuesday, Mar 23rd • Commons Room 3:00 K will be providing all the materials to make Easter Wreaths for our doors or to give to family. Please sign up for her class and have fun being creative with ribbons, fabric, Easter eggs, and other designs. This will take two classes to complete your wreaths. Monday, February 8th Town Center Rum Balls Chris Larkins & Kim Long • 2:00 pm Living Room Chris & Kim will teach a class on learning how to make our own Rum Balls, the easy but delicious way! Gospel Music 2nd Tuesday, Jan-Apr Town Center Coeata Shinn Appreciation • 1:00 pm Theater Room Gospel music is a genre of Christian music. Coeata, a resident in Town Center, has developed a great love for Gospel Music. She will share CD's and DVD's of Gospel Music, old classics and newer music, followed by discussion.
COURSES FACULTY DAY AND TIME LOCATION 2nd and 4th Thursday Gardens Simple Crock Pot Soups Mary Shrum Jan-April • 2:00 1412 Mary will demonstrate to those in the class how to make simple soups in a crockpot, Let's see how creative you can be by taking the ingredients Mary has provided, including leftovers, and producing a delicious soup for those cold winter days! Thursday, March 11th Basics of Lightwhipping Holly Alley Springs Activity Room • 2:00 pm Lightwhipping is a Flo-Art type of dancing that Holly uses to stay in shape and just for fun. She uses many techniques and beautiful colors that glow in the dark. She will be demonstrating this dance and teaching how to do it sitting down. Thursday, April 1st Cookie Decorating Seana Sutterfield Springs Activity Room • 2:00 pm Seana will prepare some sugar cookies and the class will have fun decorating with icings, sprinkles, and colored sugars. We will be decorating Easter cookies in all different shapes and colors from bunnies to Easter eggs. Thursday, Feb 11th Town Center "Chocolate & Cocktails" Becky and Kaitlan • 3:00 pm Commons Room In honor of Valentine's Day, Becky and Kaitlan will be working with the class to make a variety of chocolates, along with cocktails and beverages that will compliment all the chocolate desserts. Last Monday, Jan-Apr Town Center Town Center Book Club Sue Ann Johnson • 2:00 pm Commons Room Join Sue Ann, TC resident, who facilitates the book club each month. The club chooses a book and they discuss it the following month, books ranging from classics to best sellers! Sign up sheets will be at the front desk for ordering the book. Valentine Photos for Renee Hoback & Tuesday, January 19th Town Center Families Angela Ulissi • 10:00 AM Commons Room Renee and Angela will set up a photo booth for residents in the Town Center to come have their picture made. A sign-up sheet will be at the front desk. The photos will be printed and we will meet again to make the frames to display your photos.

All supplies will be provided. This should make a nice gift for your loved ones for Valentine's Day. Spring Beer Thursday, April 29th Town Center Becky and Kaitlan Tasting Classes • 3:00 pm Commons Room Join Becky Strong and Kaitlan Kenworthy for a fun Beer tasting class. We will taste and learn the history of several different Spring Beers, some of which are made locally at our Oklahoma Breweries. We will also pair the beer with delicious Spring snacks that enhance the flavors. IL-Tues, Jan 26th • IL-Town Center-Theater 2:00pm Tech Class w/Angela Angela Ulissi Room AL-Tues, Feb16th • AL-Inn Living Room 2:00pm Ask Angela! Tech questions such as how to Skype, e-mail, Facebook, and other nagging tech questions you may have! Beginning Wednesday, Town Center "Blue Zones" Becky and Kaitlan January 6th-March 24th Commons Room two per month • 2:00 pm Join Becky Strong and Kaitlan Kenworthy as they present a class on the famous "Blue Zones" book which will cover all the countries and specific cities where the population lives to be over 100 and are still healthy. Learn why and how these particular sites and their people around the world live so long, based on lifestyle, foods, and other choices they make in their lives. Two classes per month. Wednesday, March 10th Town Center Why We Love Coffee Jeremy Tanner • 10:30 am Living Room Jeremy will share the history of coffee, how it is roasted and prepared, what countries produce coffee and the different brands. There will be coffee tasting paired with various types of biscuits. Tuesday, January 26 Wine Pairing & Tasting Chris Larkins & Kim Long Theater Room • 3:15 pm Chris and Kim will be presenting various wines for you to taste and judge as your favorites. They will also provide a few snack items that pair well with each wine.

They love to have make-overs, nails polished, and enjoy something that makes them feel good. Tues, March 9th Town Center Beer Tasting Chris Larkins & Kim Long • 3:15 pm Theater Room Chris and Kim will present several beers for you to taste and discuss the ingredients that goes into each beer and the orgin as well.
Faculty Biographies NAME OF INSTRUCTOR CLASS NAME "Chocolates & Cocktails", Spring Beer Tasting, Becky Strong "Blue Zones" Becky has been the Community Life Director at The Fountains @ Canterbury for over 23 years. She has a BS Degree in Interior Design and worked as a designer for more than 15 years. She also has a Masters Degree in Gerontology and is a Certified Dementia Practitioner. She has a grown son Ryan, and daughter Heather. She loves doing parties and events for the residents and bringing joy to their lives, cooking, gardening and watching football and Thunder. She also loves to read, especially Biographies and is interested in history and geography as well. Coeata Shinn Gospel Music Appreciation Coeata has lived at the Town Center for over three years now and enjoys sharing her love of Gospel music with others. She will lead the class in the Theater Room with a DVD and discussion. She enjoys going on the mystery dinners and coming to most programs and concerts. "Chocolates & Cocktails", Spring Beer Tasting, Kaitlan Kenworthy "Blue Zones" Kaitlan is the Wellness Director located in the Fitness Center. She focuses on exercise, fitness, and good health. She has a degree in Kinesiology and Masters Degree in Gerontology, Kaitlan loves soccer, mountain climbing, and she runs in many marathons. She has backpacked through Europe and many other countries around the world and loves to travel. She loves to make anything possible for our residents. Jeremy Tanner "Why We Love Coffee" Jeremy is our Plant Operations Director. He has over twenty years experience working in facility operations. Other interests include gardening, outdoor activities, metal, mechanics, woodwork and furniture/furnishings design and building. He is a former freestyle gymnastics instructor and personal trainer. Jeremy has been married 24 years and has two children, Jayra-23 and Josiah-19. Michelle Johnson "Bread Baking" Michelle has been a Naya in the Gardens for over 6 years and loves to teach our residents living with dementia new skills and experiences. She says they are all unique and diverse residents with interesting stories. She is very creative and comes up with beautiful crafts and decorations. She is also passionate about gardening. It is a stress reliever for her, both at Canterbury and at home. This year she is trying her hand at vegetables, as well as, roses! She also loves baking. Michelle has five grandchildren and loves cooking with them and spoiling them as much as she does her residents. She wishes she had the words to express how much she enjoys her job here at Canterbury.
NAME OF INSTRUCTOR CLASS NAME Patricia Pressley Famous Musicians of the Twentieth Century Trish has been working at the Fountains @ Canterbury as a community life assistant at the Inn for over eight years. She has worked with seniors most of her adult life and loves to interact with them. Trish also loves to spend time with family and friends. She enjoys reading, movies, doing a variety of crafts, including making jewelry. Trish has one daughter who lives in Colorado and two dogs. Sue Ann Johnson Town Center Book Club Sue Ann, who is a resident in Town Center, loves to read and discuss various types of books. She is very active in many programs here at the Fountains @ Canterbury. She says she has never met a stranger! Chris Larkins "Rum Balls", Beer Tasting, and "Wine Pairing" Chris has been a chef at The Fountains at Canterbury for several years now and was promoted to Executive Chef over the Independent Living Town Center. He and his wife both love to cook different kinds of foods and he feels challenged to do some spectacular things with his new job. Mary Shrum Simple Crockpot Soups Mary is the Program Director for the Gardens. She is a big advocate for The Alzheimer's Association, planning both the Alzheimer's Hoe Down here at Canterbury, Music of the Night, and the Alzheimer's Walk downtown. She loves to cook, especially for her family and her residents. Mary has one daughter, four grandchildren, five brothers and their wives, and 27 nieces and nephews! They had wonderful holidays and week-end cook-outs all the time growing up. She is very creative and loves reading, doing crafts and outings with her grandkids. Renee Hoback Valentine Photos for Families Renee has been our Executive Director for over a year. She moved here recently from Lawton to Oklahoma City with her husband. She loves Christmas and decorating her home, is very creative and has lots of ideas for our community! She has loved doing arts and crafts since her days in Brownies and Girl Scouts. She also enjoys cooking and watching sports.
NAME OF INSTRUCTOR CLASS NAME Valentine Photos for Families and Angela Ulissi "Tech Class with Angela" Angela is our Sales Director and has been with The Fountains at Canterbury over 3 years. She is an avid hiker and kayaker-loving the outdoors whether it is in the mountains or by a body of water. Angela also likes to do photography and crafts. She is obviously very "up on technology" also, although she has struggled with tech things as it became more complex. She would love to help you work through any issues or questions you might have about your phone or computer. Angie Lutter Spa Day Angie loves her job, making the residents feel happy and the ladies feel pretty. She enjoys doing nails, face masks and spa treatments. She says she loves doing her own nails every week and tries to match her nails with her purse color or phone case. She says she is pretty high maintenance when it comes to her nails and spa experiences. Kimberly Long "Rum Balls", Beer Tasting, and Wine Pairing Kim has been with The Fountains at Canterbury approximately 30 years. She has worked in the Springs kitchen most of the time and recently stepped up to Asst. Director of Food Service, along with Chris Larkins. Both have a big job to do to feed all of our residents on this big campus! She has four children, with only one left still at home. Kathryn Barger Making Easter Wreaths K has been our part-time concierge for many years, mainly working in Town Center on week-ends and two afternoon & evening shifts. K is very creative...loves to do crafts, sew, enjoys travel, but most of all is a mother to a number of dogs and cats...mostly strays to which she has given a good home. Oh, and several kids, grandkids and great grandkids too!
NAME OF INSTRUCTOR CLASS NAME Marsha Triplett "Bubble Solution Recipes" Marsha is married with one daughter, a son-in-law and 3 grandchildren who live in Georgetown, Texas. She grew up on a farm in northern Oklahoma, went to college at OSU and received her teaching certificate, moved to Colorado and taught high school English, Literature, Writing, Journalism, Theater and Debate. She also coached volleyball and Track. She and her family lived there for 18 years, moving back to Oklahoma City to teach high school again. She then sold insurance, specializing in Medicare Insurance. That is what led her to this field. She started in Long Term Care, then moved to Assisted Living and has been with The Fountains since December of 2019. She now lives in the country and loves fishing, reading and gardening. She and her husband enjoy spending time with the grandkids on their acreage when they visit. They both have motorcycles and they love riding in warmer weather. Holly Alley Basics of Light Whipping Holly is the Community Life Assistant at the Springs. She likes to keep in shape by dancing with Light Whipping techniques, which help in dealing with daily stress and anxiety. She is excited to share her experience and knowledge with you about this fun past time. Holly has two children, 13 and 7 years old and she loves working with seniors. Seana Sutterfield Easter Cookie Decorating Seana is the Administrator for the Springs and The Fountains at Canterbury. She really enjoys interacting with her residents. She has worked in Long Term Care for over 20 years, as a nurse first and now in Administration.
