So, what’s in a name? In ancient Rome, Vesta was the goddess of hearth, home and family. Vesta Street inself was the site of a mid 19th Century iron foundry that was occupied by the eminent engineer Willian Fairbairn, one of the pioneers who made Manchester the beating heart of the industrial age. This unique heritage coupled with the waterside location informed the design, layouts and finishes of One Vesta Street’s homes, with construction to industry-leading standards by the award-winning Eric Wright Group. One Vesta Street’s 169 apartments and three townhouses benefit from a 24/7 concierge, residents’ clubroom, outdoor amenity space, secure cycle storage and an option to purchase a space in the private parking courtyard. A P A RT M E N T S T Y L E S AND FINISHES Set on New Islington Marina, the layout of One Vesta Street makes the most of its waterside location and the sun’s path throughout the day. The sun rises on the North East marina-side elevation, tracking around to the South where the townhouses are located alongside the Ashton Canal. Homes on the South West elevation catch the afternoon and evening light, with higher floors seeing the sunset over the city centre skyline. Eleven different apartment layouts have been created to make the most of the natural environment and provide a range of options for purchasers, ranging from one-bed homes to three-bed duplexes. Eight ground floor apartments offer water-level terraces, while eight duplex apartments on the top floor incorporate South West facing terraces with views over the city and beyond. TOWNHOUSES One Vesta Street’s three townhouses share the enviable position of having the Ashton Canal on one elevation and One Vesta Street’s private courtyard on the other. The brick-built townhouses enjoy access to all of One Vesta Street’s amenities and share much of the high specification and finishes with the apartments, along with an upgraded kitchen. ABOUT THE A RC H I T E C T R A FA E L V I Ñ O LY Rafael Viñoly Architects was founded in New York in1983 and has since become known internationally for its architectural and master planning projects around the globe. The firm maintains headquarters in New York with offices in Manchester, London and Abu Dhabi, in addition to project offices in Palo Alto and Boston. RVA is behind some of the most famous residential schemes in recent times, including 432 Park Avenue, New York, and the Battersea Power Station masterplan.
