PA R K R U L E S PARK RULES & REGULATIONS The following rules and regulations have been established to ensure a safe and pleasant visit. • Park Hours Sunrise to Sunset except for approved City event. • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited except where designated. • Charcoal fires are allowed only in facilities provided – do not leave unattended. • Fire pits, fireworks and firecrackers are not allowed. • Park in designated areas only. • No loud music, noise or profanity. • Dispose of all trash in the trash receptacles. • Tents and inflatables (bounce houses) are prohibited unless approved by city. • No motorized vehicles including, automobiles, 4-wheelers or motorbikes. • No bathing, swimming or wading in lakes, ponds or water features • Leash and pickup after pets • Animals are not allowed on athletic fields, tennis courts, play areas, or in water features with the exception of service animals. • No sleeping or camping overnight. • No lying or sleeping on park benches, tables or play areas. • Firearms are prohibited except as permitted under N.C.G.S. 14-415.11 Be respectful of parks users – Please help keep our parks clean. The center can accommodate 60 people seated inside or 110 standing. The total party size allowed is 110 people. In addition to the inside area there is a large patio behind the building. The outside area can be uses for wedding ceremonies or outside seating. Tables and chairs are not provided for outdoor use. Private Party Rates $475/four-hour block; $100/hr. each additional hour plus $20/hr. attendant fee before or after regular hours. Required deposits: $100 refundable clean-up deposit and $200 refundable damage deposit. Non Profit Groups (with 501c3) $240/four-hour block; $60/hr. each additional hour plus $20/hr. attendant fee before or after regular hours. ARTS CENTER THE HANNAH BLOCK HISTORIC USO/COMMUNITY ART CENTER 120 S. Second Street, Wilmington 910.341.7860 The facility is a city-owned building managed by a private contractor. The multi-use facility features five studios (including two dance studios) that are available to non-profit organizationsfor rehearsals of plays, musicals and recitals. The studios are also used for classes in a variety of artistic disciplines. The building is home to the Orange Street Potters. BOSS Camp (Broadway on Second Street summer camp program) and the Hannah Block Second Street Stage, a newly renovated auditorium with a stage and technical loft used for rehearsals and performances. The auditorium seats over 200 (300 standing) and is also available for weddings, parties and other programs. PERMITS Film Permitting The City of Wilmington have welcomed filmmakers to our town since 1983 with feature-length films, television series, movies of the week, music videos and commercial shoots. The City’s Film and Media Services office coordinates filming on location including the delivery of City services such as police and fire protection, barricades and offer assistance in securing parks, streets and buildings for film locations. The Film and Media Services office is also entrusted with interpreting and upholding the City's Filming Guidelines in the issuance of Filming Permits. Our decisions reflect an attempt to balance the needs of filmmakers with the needs and expectations of businesses, residents and the public interest, and to arrive at solutions that are favorable to everyone. Locally we provide year round training for 600+ athletes. This includes 14 different sports, summer camps, special events and more. All programs are offered to the athletes at no cost.
