Welcome to the NSW State Championships On behalf of Baseball NSW, I am pleased to welcome you all to the 2021 NSW State Championships. After such a chaotic year as a result of COVID19, we are looking forward to this year’s tournament featuring the best players from our Metro and Country associations battling it out on the diamond. We have over 650 players, from 10 Associations participating over the coming days from our League Age 10/11’s through to Little League Majors, Intermediate League, Junior League and Senior League teams. I can only imagine the hours all of these teams, coaches, managers and parents have put into their preparation for this year’s Championships. The last 12 months have shown us that hard work and determination can still be rewarded and we, at Baseball NSW, are looking forward to seeing the hard work playing out on the field. COVID19 has truly seen our motto of ‘Character, Courage & Loyalty’ come to the fore as we all pulled together to fight to keep our families and our sport safe enough to continue. The 2021 State Championships is a COVID19 Safe event and we encourage all attending to adhere to the current State Health Orders in place at that time. As a reminder, only the top two teams in each division will go on to represent NSW at the National Tournaments later in the year. Lastly, none of this would be possible without our amazing volunteers and parents, a big thank you to all the volunteers and officials who donate their time to make ensure the players make the diamond prepared to take on the best NSW has to offer. Without them, the NSW State Championships would not be possible. I wish all teams participating in the 2021 State Championships the best of luck throughout the competition and beyond. Who is your favourite baseball player of all time? Why?
Jackie Robinson – because he’s really fast and was the first
African American to play MLB.
What is your favourite baseball memory?
Marlins vs East Hills in Little Little Majors – hit my first inside the
park home run.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
Buy some new baseball equipment, pay off mum and dad’s house,
buy a new Motorcross bike and a new mountain bike. Then I’d go
to the USA with my family and watch as many MLB games as I could
(till I run out of money).
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would
you go? Why?
Hawaii with my family. I’ve never been there and really want to
swim with the dolphins (like they did in Just Go With It).
What is a secret talent you have?
Mum and Dad would say … being a pain in the bum!
How long have you been playing baseball?
8 years (started when I was 4).
Describe your ideal day in three words?
Food … Sport … No-School.
What are you looking forward to about State Champs?
Experiencing the tournament with my Team, meeting new friends
and hopefully bringing home the title.
What position do you play?
Centre Field and 2nd Base.

Who is your favourite baseball player of all time? Why?
Derek Jeter is my favourite player of all time. He was a winner who
played baseball the right way. He is an icon.
What is your favourite baseball memory?
Winning the u10/11 State Championships with Cronulla and hitting
my first home run in Zooka.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
I would buy a PS5 and a chauffeur-driven McLaren.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would
you go? Why?
I would go to Europe to see many of the countries. I love history
and would love to see historic spots).
What is a secret talent you have?
I am a secretly good dancer.
How long have you been playing baseball?
I am in my 8th year.
Describe your ideal day in three words?
Sleep-in, baseball, video games.
What are you looking forward to about State Champs?
Everything! Tournament baseball is the best experience for baseball
players. Tournaments are always fun and challenging because you
are playing against competition you don’t normally play against.
What position do you play?
Outfield and middle-infield.

To America to watch the baseball.

I can clutch start a pit bike.

Since I was 4 in Aussie T-Ball.

Meeting new people and playing in my new team.

Yadier Molina (Cardinals Catcher) – 9-time golden glove winning
catcher with one of the MLB’s best records for getting out runners
caught stealing. “does it with ease... throws runners out from his
knees!”
What is your favourite baseball memory?
My first Grand Slam Home Run – at Yarrawarrah in Little League.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
Invest it in a boat and game fishing gear to catch a Marlin.
(my Dad said I should use it to help finish Bonnet Bay Clubhouse!)
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would
you go? Why?
Home dugout at Dodgers Stadium in Los Angeles.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr; because he hits the ball hard.
What is your favourite baseball memory?
Travelling to LLWS in Williamsport, USA, in 2016 to watch my
brother Brent play with his Hills team. During the game against
Panama Brent hit an out of the park home run with a runner on
to tie the game up.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
Save some of it, give some to my parents and buy a Tesla!
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would
you go? Why?
Bora Bora, Tahiti, to spend time relaxing at the beach, swimming
and enjoying the beautiful scenery.

Build a 5 car garage and fill it with a Mazda RX-7, Lamborghini

you go? Why?
I would go back to the USA to watch more baseball in as
many stadiums as possible.
What is a secret talent you have?
Juggling a hockey ball on a hockey stick over 100 times
continuously.
How long have you been playing baseball?
This is my 10th season, starting T-ball when I turned 4.

Bike, Burgers, Baseball.
What are you looking forward to about State Champs?
Competing with and against mates and seeing how far we can
go as a team.

David Ortiz because he was the best player when I started
following MLB and I wanted to be like him when I grow up.
What is your favourite baseball memory?
Playing an exhibition game before Australia played against
Arizona Diamondbacks at the SCG in 2014.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
Go on a holiday and put the rest in savings.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would
you go? Why?
Hawaii because I’ve been there a few times and love it there.

Beating Hills in at the 2019 NSW State Titles which qualified us

you go? Why?
Hawaii - it’s so chilled.

I trained my dog to woof the national anthem.

8 years - I started with T-ball.

SLEEP - EAT - FRIENDS.
What are you looking forward to about State Champs?
Getting the chance to qualify for the Nationals.

Oliver Ferguson
Who is your favourite baseball player of all time? Why?
Mookie Betts. Because he is a great batter and played for the
Boston Red Socks - my favourite team.
What is your favourite baseball memory?
Winning our first Manly Seasiders grand final. It was such an
amazing feeling to know that I did it with my team. It was a
collective effort that we all did it together.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
I’d invest into the stock market and move to Hawaii near Banzai
Pipeline so I could surf all day.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would
you go? Why?
I would go to Japan. Visit Tokyo, go skiing and learn more about
the culture.
What is a secret talent you have?
I love singing, especially ABBA songs and my favourite band
The Smiths.
How long have you been playing baseball?
7 years.
Describe your ideal day in three words?
The three S’s. Sleep, surf & snapchat.
What are you looking forward to about State Champs?
I’m looking forward to playing at Aquatic on our home grounds,
playing with my mates and improving my baseball skills.
What position do you play?
Right field.

Who is your favourite baseball player of all time? Why?
I don’t have a favourite player, I’d prefer to be playing but my
favourite team is the Boston Red Sox.
What is your favourite baseball memory?
Playing with my minors team and winning the grand final and being
a part of the Opening Day game in Sydney where I got the stand
on the field at 3rd base whilst they sang the national anthems.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
Save most of it, give some to my parents and travel around the
world with my family and friends in style.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would
you go? Why?
I’d go to America and watch MLB games.
What is a secret talent you have?
I don’t have any but I can solve a rubrics cube.
How long have you been playing baseball?
I’ve been playing since I was 5, so close to 9 years.
Describe your ideal day in three words?
Sunny, 27, not humid.
What are you looking forward to about State Champs?
Playing with new teammates and trying to go the next step.

Pitcher & Outfield.

Who is your favourite baseball player of all time? Why?
Fernando Tatis Jr., because he is a fun player to watch who will be
playing with my favourite team for most of his career.
What is your favourite baseball memory?
Closing out a win in a close game at Little League state
championships, and watching Bartolo Colon hit a home run.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
Give ¾ to my family, spend some on my education and invest
the rest.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would
you go? Why?
San Diego, for the Robertos carne asada fries and In-n-out burger.
What is a secret talent you have?
Typing on a Nokia brick phone. And playing the French horn.
How long have you been playing baseball?
9 years.
Describe your ideal day in three words?
Disneyland, Robertos, Movie.
What are you looking forward to about State Champs?
Pitching, and playing with my friends.

Anywhere but Center Field.

Who is your favourite baseball player of all time? Why?
Yadier Molina, St. Louis Cardinals. I love watching YouTube clips
of Yadier catching, I love the way he controls the game and he
has a great baseball mind.
What is your favourite baseball memory?
Winning State Titles in 2019 in Little League. It was an awesome
team and a great final against Cronulla.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
Donate some to charity and put a batting cage in my back yard.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would
you go? Why?
I would love to travel again, probably to Japan. I was lucky to have
a holiday there just before Covid. I loved the food, people and
snow in Japan. They also love their baseball.
What is a secret talent you have?
In January I learnt to ride on a water ski with no bindings or fin.
How long have you been playing baseball?
9 years, I started playing at the end of Kindy with the Stealers.
Describe your ideal day in three words?
Baseball, Mountain biking, Water-skiing.
What are you looking forward to about State Champs?
Last year was disappointing with everything being cancelled so
to play a tournament with my mates will be awesome.
What position do you play?
Catcher and Outfield.

Who is your favourite baseball player of all time? Why?
George Herman “Babe” Ruth. He was left-handed like me;
his positions were Pitcher and Outfielder. He hit 714 home runs,
he was laid back and a legend.
What is your favourite baseball memory?
When I was picked to travel to Japan with the Junior Roos
back in 2019 and played baseball overseas and making the
Ryde Rep Team.
If you had a million dollars what would you do with it?
I would give 5% to a charity, 5% to my coaches and with the
remaining money buy a house.
If you could travel anywhere in the world where would
you go? Why?
New York, so I could watch the Yankees play and cheer them
onto victory.
What is a secret talent you have?
I’m pretty good at Poker.
How long have you been playing baseball?
7 years.
Describe your ideal day in three words?
Baseball, Swimming and hanging out with my friends.
What are you looking forward to about State Champs?
Having fun playing baseball during State Championships, giving
100% to my team and coaches, winning State and going to Nationals.

Pitcher and Outfielder.
