What’s the Story? What is the product program story and how do we tell it? • There are approximately 595,000 adult Emperor penguins in Antarctica It’s the only animal to inhabit the open ice of Antarctica during the Emperor • winter • They face wind chills as cold as -76oF and blizzards of 124mph Four layers of scale-like feather protect them from icy winds and Penguins • provide a waterproof coat • Colonies of adults and chicks work together to huddle for warmth. 5,000 or more tightly packed adults and chicks shuffle around, so each takes a turn - but not too long - on the outside of the huddle where it’s cold Fun Facts – • The tallest and heaviest of all living penguin species, reaching an average 39 inches in length and can Ice, Ice weigh up to 88 pounds • Diet consists primarily of fish, krill, and squid Baby! • Their aerodynamic bodies and strong flippers make them excellent swimmers, reaching speeds of 7.6 mph • They can dive deeper than any other bird – as deep as 565 m 1850 ft - and they can stay under for more than 20 minutes • A social animal, they will walk up to 75 miles each year to reach their colonial nesting areas • Once an egg is laid, the male will care for the egg until hatched while the mother returns to the sea to hunt for food. This can last up to 2 months! • As the young penguins grow, adults leave them in groups of chicks called crèches while they leave to fish. • Considered a “near threatened” species due to disease, habitat destruction, and disturbance of breeding colonies by humans • They can live 15-20 years in the wild

2021-22 Fall & Girl Scout Cookie Crossover Patch • As a Girl Scout member, girls work to create change and to spread kindness in the world around them • To earn this crossover patch, girls must: • Participate in the 2021 Fall Product Program by creating an avatar and sending 18+ emails, selling 3 magazines and 35 nut/chocolate selections. • Sell 275+ packages of cookies during the 2022 Cookie Program
Customer Emails Family and friends receive emails with links to shop for magazines and nuts/chocolates and can hear the special message recorded by their favorite Girl Scout 21
Online Storefronts Customers can choose to shop for magazines and/or nuts 22
Purchasing Online Nuts/Chocolates • Customers have the option to choose girl delivered or direct ship • Customers pay for all products online at the time of checkout
Entering Order Card Items Parents/girls enter the total of each item using the nut order card into the M2OS system prior to the end of the program Nut order card totals will be tabulated and added to all online sales totals in reports All in-person nut orders must be entered into M2OS system to be processed 24

Getting Started • Watch troop training video • Create your troop leader avatar • Within M2OS, launch parent/guardian email blasts (PGEB) announcing troop participation in the fall product program • Manage nut card orders (after girl entry for any girls who didn’t enter their own paper orders) • View reports
