Enrolment Information HOW TO ENROL REQUISITES / LANGUAGE LITERACY AND NUMERACY (LLN) Click here for the MGA website With all short courses offered at MGA Industry Training, there are no training prerequisites to complete prior. However, PAYMENT OPTIONS there are some requirements around language, literacy, and numeracy. MGA INDUSTRY TRAINING TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS All accredited online courses require access to workplace / commercial premises, internet, computer/smartphone with video recording capabilities for demonstration assessment pieces. All our assessments are a combination of online questions, case studies and practical demonstrations via video. 4
MGA Training Face to Face Courses VIC RESPONSIBLE SERVICE OF ALCOHOL It is mandatory for all staff who are involved in selling, serving, or offering alcohol to have a current VCGLR RSA certificate. In this course participants develop the skills and knowledge required to responsibly sell and serve alcohol and to satisfy the requirements of Victorian State legislation. Upon successful completion, participants will receive a certificate issued by the Victorian Commission for Gambling and Liquor Regulation VCGLR. This certificate is valid for 3 years. Participants must complete the RSA refresher training online through the VCGLR website. From July 1st, 2021 VCGLR will move from their own course to the unit of the competency, SITHFAB002 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol. This can be delivered online or through face to face. MGA will continue to offer the current Face-to-Face course for group bookings in both metro and regional areas until 30th June 2021. Please contact Claire for further details at training@mga.asn.au. FOOD SAFETY: NSW & OTHER STATES If you have a number of staff that require this certification and have a centralised location that has access to a commercial kitchen/ food preparation area; this option of training may suit your needs. Food Safety Courses Training delivered by Master Grocers Australia RTO 21148 SITXFSA001 (Use hygienic practices for food safety - Level 1) (All States) This course meets the minimum requirements for food handling staff under Australian Food Standards Code, Standard 3.2.2, the requirement for staff to have the necessary knowledge of food safety and food hygiene matters. Ideal for employees starting full time work with food. The course covers; • Follow hygiene procedures and identify food hazards • Report any personal health issues • Prevent food contamination • Prevention of cross-contamination through hygiene practice Course: ONLINE Accredited: YES Duration: 3-4 Hrs Fee: $48 Upon successful completion participants will receive a statement of attainment for the nationally accredited unit of competency. SIRRFSA001 (Handle food safely in a retail environment) (Food Safety Supervisor Certificate) This unit is the minimum requirement for most state and territories and/or councils (except NSW) where the business requires a certified Food Safety Supervisor. The course covers; • Following Food Safety Program • Store & Handle Food Safely • Maintain Personal Hygiene Standards • Maintain equipment and work area Course: ONLINE Accredited: YES Duration: 4-6 Hrs Fee: $88 (Non-members $105) Upon successful completion participants will receive a statement of attainment for the nationally accredited unit of competency and are accepted as a qualified Food Safety Supervisor in the retail environment. 6
Food Safety Courses Training delivered by Master Grocers Australia RTO 21148 NSW SIRRFSA001 (Handle food safely in a retail environment) (NSW Food Safety Supervisor ) This course is the minimum requirement by the NSW Food Authority where the business requires a certified Food Safety Supervisor. If a business has several locations, they will need to have a qualified Food Safety Supervisor at each location who is reasonably available at all times. The course covers; • Following Food Safety Program • Store & Handle Food Safely • Maintain Personal Hygiene Standards • Maintain equipment and work area • NSW Egg Handling, Allergen Management & Penalties • NSW Food Authority COVID-19 Hygiene Module Course: ONLINE Accredited: YES Duration: 6 Hrs Fee: $123 (Non-members $155) For this course participants will receive the NSW Food Safety Supervisor certificate PLUS a statement of attainment for the nationally accredited unit of competency. Upon successful completion participants are accepted as a qualified NSW Food Safety Supervisor in retail. NSW FOOD SAFETY SUPERVISOR REFRESHER NSW Food Safety Supervisor certificates expire 5 years from date of issue. Food Safety Supervisors holding a NSW Food Safety Supervisor certificate due to expire are required to complete this course and participants will need to provide a copy of their current certificate within 30 days of expiry. Please check your NSW Food Authority certificate before booking this course. No refunds are given. Food Safety Courses continued INTRODUCTION TO FOOD HANDLING This course is an Introduction to Food Safety. It will give participants skills and knowledge required to prepare and handle food safely. Participants completing this course are starting in the industry and handling all food types. Training delivered Responsible Service of Alcohol Courses by Master Grocers Australia RTO 21148 RSA certificates are required by law to be held by all employees/volunteers when working with alcohol (sale or serving). This includes food and beverage attendants; packaged liquor salespersons; winery, brewery, and distillery cellar door staff and supplier sales representatives. It also applies to security staff who monitor customer behaviour and to the licensee who is ultimately responsible for responsible service of alcohol (RSA) management. When purchasing an RSA course please choose the correct State that it will be held in. ACT SITHFAB002 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol It is mandatory for all staff (including Licensees and commercial permit holders, crowd controllers) who are involved in selling, offering, or serving alcohol to have a current RSA certificate. ACT legislation requires this course to be refreshed every three years. Course: ONLINE Accredited: YES Duration: 4 Hrs Fee: $50 Upon successful completion, participants will receive a statement of attainment for the nationally accredited unit of competency. ACT course approval number: RSA2011-011. RTO TOID No. 21148. ACT Refresher Responsible Service of Alcohol This certificate is valid ONLY IN the ACT. This short course must be completed within three years of the date of expiry the current SITFAB002 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol Statement of Attainment (also known as the RSA certificate). Please check the expiry date on the certificate before enrolling into the ACT RSA refresher. If the certificate has expired, you will need to complete the full ACT Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB002) course. Completion of this short course requires; • Statement of Attainment (issued by RTO) with expiry or is current/ or about to expire • Completed statutory declaration • Completion of online questions Course: ONLINE Accredited: NO Duration: 2 Hrs Fee: $35 WA/QLD SITHFAB002 Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol It is mandatory for all staff who are involved in selling, offering, or serving alcohol to have a current RSA certificate. Workplace Health and Safety All courses are non-accredited and once successfully completed the online quiz, the participant will receive a Certificate of Completion (immediate download). HAZARD IDENTIFICATION & RISK MANAGEMENT This course is designed to understand the principles of hazard identification and risk assessment. Suitable for managers and supervisors. Tobacco Compliance, Customer Service Courses All courses following are non-accredited and delivered online. At the end of the module, the participant will receive a Certificate of Completion. VIC/NSW/WA/SA/TAS/QLD/ACT State based tobacco courses are non-accredited and at the end the participant will receive a Certificate of Completion and if required, Acknowledgement form (dependent on state). Owners and managers are responsible for ensuring all new employees are provided with tobacco training prior to selling tobacco items. MGA Finance & Governance Training for Registered Organisations MGA Industry Training with permission of Registered Organisation Commission is offering the MGA Finance & Governance Training for Registered Organisations. The Fair Work (Registered Organisations) Act 2009 (the RO Act) requires all office holders whose duties relate to financial management to undertake approved training within six months of taking office (unless an exemption has been granted under s.293M). The requirement includes office holders elected or appointed following casual vacancies. This course is completed online. No virtual classrooms and keeping appointments. It is self-paced, and you can complete at any time or place. There are 8 interactive modules to complete with the final assessment. No need to wait for a trainer to assess your work, once the assessment has been competed with 100% satisfaction, you can download your Certificate of Completion straight away. Training Checklist This checklist is designed to assist on what areas should be covered with formal and on the job training. Training to be completed YES/NO Food Safety • Does the business have a food safety supervisor (minimum of one)?
