THE MISSION: Runway to Hope’s mission is to support families primarily in Central Florida fighting Pediatric Cancer while seeking a cure. THE VISION: Through relationships with children’s hospitals, Runway to Hope fosters collaborative efforts among corporations, local businesses, and philanthropists to not only raise funds and awareness, but also bring new programs and initiatives to the pediatric cancer community, while providing direct support and aid primarily to Central Florida children and their families impacted by pediatric cancer. DIRECT FINANCIAL SUPPORT: Through the Runway to Hope Family Assistance Program, direct aid is provided to families who are in desperate need of financial support. Runway to Hope covers expenses such as gas and groceries, water, electricity, mortgage and rent, car payments, and sadly, at times, funeral and end-of-life expenses. RECOGNITION: Runway to Hope has received recognition from the Central Florida’s Association of Fundraising Professionals on National Philanthropy Day in the following categories: Orlando Magic Youth Foundation Creating Change Honoree (2017), Excellence in Fundraising by a Non-Profit Organization (2014), and “Outstanding Philanthropists” honoring Runway’s co-founders Mark and Josie NeJame (2014). Runway to Hope’s Spring Fashion Soiree has been named “Best Charity Event” a combined total of fourteen times in its eight year existence by the Orlando Business Journal, Orlando Magazine, and Orlando Style in addition to being featured in People Magazine and Marie Claire. Runway to Hope was featured on CNN’s segment Champions for Change in June 2017 as Don Lemon’s charity.
RUNWAY TO HOPE’S 9TH ANNUAL SPRING FASHION SOIRÉE The Runway to Hope Spring Fashion Soiree is the organization’s signature fundraising event of the year! The highlight of the evening is an inspiring and heartwarming fashion show featuring more than 175 incredible and brave children, all of whom are currently battling or have overcome their pediatric cancer. Modeling much more than clothing, these inspiring children walk the runway hand-in-hand with one of our national and local celebrity escorts. The models who take the stage are all between the ages of 2 and 18. It is an incredible experience to watch these kids show off their strength and unwavering spirits as they strut and smile down the runway! The Runway to Hope Spring Fashion Soiree is a celebration of these children and their incomparable courage. The annual Spring Fashion Soiree is also a true testament to the support and passion the Central Florida community has shown towards this inspiring cause. Since Runway to Hope’s inception in 2010, the Soiree has soared in attendance as well as the amount of dollars raised. In May 2018, the event hosted approximately 2,300 guests and an outstanding amount of $1.2 million was pledged during this single, spectacular evening! As one of the most highly anticipated evenings of the year, the Runway to Hope Spring Fashion Soiree takes place at the luxurious Rosen Shingle Creek Resort, one of our most valued corporate sponsors. WHEN & WHERE: May 18, 2019 Rosen Shingle Creek 9939 Universal Boulevard Orlando, FL 32819
OUR HOSPITAL PROMISE The funds raised by Runway to Hope’s Spring Fashion Soiree benefit the pediatric oncology programs at our local children’s hospitals as well as Runway to Hope’s Family Assistance Program. FLORIDA HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN: Runway to Hope’s initial $1 million pledge funded the Pediatric Palliative Care Program at Florida Hospital for Children. This program provides physical, emotional, and spiritual support to children and their families who are suffering from a pediatric cancer diagnosis. In 2017, Runway to Hope completed their $1 million pledge and started a new promise to the hospital of $500,000. This new pledge will fund a portion of the pediatric oncology floor renovation which was completed in December of 2017. The new floor grew to include 12 large patient rooms, a family lounge, and a play room. This renovation of the hospital wing has already provided much needed comfort and top of line equipment to serve the families living and battling pediatric cancer in this unit. In 2018, an additional $10,000 was pledged toward the pediatric oncology division of CAR T-cell immunotherapy that will be offered by Florida Hospital in 2019. Florida Hospital will be one of the first pediatric hospitals in Central Florida at which patients will be able to receive the CD19- CAR T-cell product, and this breakthrough treatment will assist our common goal to advance cures for our patients. They are working to develop cell-based immunotherapies to improve outcomes for children with cancer who currently cannot be cured. NEMOURS CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL: At Nemours Children’s Hospital, Runway to Hope’s initial $1 million pledge funded the Community Children’s Oncology Program, which is a database that improves access to leading-edge therapies, research, and resources for pediatric cancer patients throughout Northern and Central Florida. Additionally, funding supported the Pediatric Interventional Radiology Program, which serves cancer patients directly by utilizing rare and advanced imaging technologies for localized treatment. Runway to Hope completed their $1 million pledge in 2018 and started a new promise to the hospital of $500,000. In 2019, funding will continue to support the Pediatric Interventional Radiology Program by purchasing new equipment and training for Microwave Ablation technology used in treating sof t tissue tumors. This technology will reduce the children’s side effects and offer the opportunity to have potentially life-saving care. A brand new Survivorship Program is also being funded, which will give physicians access to a database containing information on how patients reacted to their treatments so doctors can better treat all of the children diagnosed with pediatric cancer. ARNOLD PALMER HOSPITAL FOR CHILDREN: Runway to Hope’s contribution supported Central Florida’s first ever comprehensive Pediatric Neuro- Oncology Program, which is comprised of a team that provides the full range of medical and emotional support specific to pediatric brain tumor patients during and af ter their treatment. Runway to Hope has completed their $1 million pledge to Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.
FAMILY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM In addition to the combined hospital pledge to the children’s hospitals, Runway to Hope provides desperately needed direct financial assistance to children and their families affected by childhood cancer. When a child is diagnosed with cancer, the entire family is put to the test and faces incomprehensible, life-altering situations. Families of childhood cancer patients often experience a dramatic decrease in income when caring for their sick child. Often times one parent has to quit work to become a full time caregiver for their child. Their entire schedule is often quickly devoted to being bedside in a hospital setting or dedicating all of their time and resources to their child’s care. Added to this is the additional stress and inability to afford the bills and expenses related to medical treatment, which can be very overwhelming. The financial gifts made to Runway to Hope assist with many necessities including: transportation to and from the child’s life-saving treatments, mortgage and rent payments, car payments and repairs, as well as frequent requests to maintain the essentials in a home such as electricity and water. Tragically, end of life and funeral costs are sometimes a reality for these families who have been both emotionally and financially devastated. The needs are endless and solely funded by philanthropy. Childhood cancer is not a battle these families can or should fight alone. Runway to Hope’s Family Assistance Program continues its mission to provide direct financial aid and assistance to families in need who are being treated at all three of Central Florida’s children’s hospitals. Moreover, funds from the Family Assistance Program are utilized to provide the children and their families a spectacular night at our annual Spring Fashion Soiree. Our beautiful warriors and their families are treated to a night and experience of a lifetime. With most families struggling financially as they care for their child with cancer, there are usually far too few funds, energy, or time to break away from the daily tasks and struggles. Runway to Hope helps to change all of that. Providing a new outfit to each model, picked out by the child and one of our wonderful volunteers, at the Boys and Girls Bash held weeks before, the night is one for them to dress up along with their families and shine. In addition to their new outfits, the meals, drinks, and special needs that may be required are all paid for by Runway to Hope’s Family Assistance Program. Countless children and their families have told us how the night was truly the best of their lives, as the experience was truly an unforgettable one for them. At least one third of the attendees at the annual gala are actually the children and their families. After all, it’s all about them!

CENTRAL FLORIDA TESTIMONIALS “This event showcases youngsters who so bravely fight this dreaded disease, who can at least for a moment put their struggle aside and enjoy a celebratory atmosphere.” — Harris Rosen, President and COO, Rosen Hotels & Resorts “When our son was hospitalized for several weeks, some parents at Florida Hospital told us about Runway to Hope and all of the fabulous work they do for pediatric cancer patients and their families. They provide financial assistance, which is a tremendous help, as well as highlight the children in their amazing gala. As Grayson walked the runway with Don Lemon, the smiles on their faces were priceless. Runway to Hope highlights how special these children are and brings a much needed awareness to childhood cancer. Our family will forever be grateful. ” —Michelle Zrelak, Mother of Grayson Zrelak “Runway To Hope is truly inspirational in their dedication and compassion for ending childhood cancer. Having the opportunity to meet these extraordinary young people and their families has been incredibly rewarding and a blessing to me. I hope to be involved in their fight for a cure for many years to come.” — Howie Dorough, Backstreet Boy Member
I met Rudy at Runway to Hope one night – but she made an impact that still moves me today. As much as anything, Rudy taught me about grace. She knew she didn’t have long, but she was determined to let her light shine as long as possible. Special kids like that deserve all the help - and love - we can give them. — Scott Maxwell, Orlando Seintinel Columnist “I was so moved to learn the story of Runway to Hope and their fight against pediatric cancer. This incredible organization has offered not only support, but also much needed hope for the many families fighting the disease.” — Frank Santos, CFO Rosen Hotels & Resorts “It was an amazing experience to be able to walk on stage with two young children that had just recovered from major illnesses. I could see in their faces the excitement & thrill of being part of something special. This was their chance to shine and to be recognized as famous stars. To me, they are much more than stars and celebrities. They are truly deserving of our admiration!” Dr. Andre Hebra, Chief Medical Officer, Nemours
SPONSORSHIP In addition to the outlined partnership levels listed, Runway to Hope can create customized packages and benefits that meet all specific needs or requirements for participation. Every partner is unique, and Runway to Hope is committed to fulfilling the desired value of your contribution to the Annual Spring Fashion Soirée. OUR PARTNERS Runway to Hope partners and donors have the unique opportunity to not only save children’s lives, but also to provide these amazing kids with some of the most joyous and happy memories of their childhoods. Unfortunately, pediatric cancer only receives a relatively small percentage of money provided for cancer research, treatment, and cures. This is why private donations are incredibly essential and necessary to curing and treating childhood cancer. Please visit www.runwaytohope.org in order to fill out and submit your Runway to Hope Sponsorship Form. Please feel free to email Laura Lockner at laura@runwaytohope.org with any questions or concerns. Once your form is submitted, Runway to Hope will be in touch to coordinate the details regarding your partnership. “I can’t describe the feeling to be a part of making these amazing children feel special. It is truly incredible. I am honored and so proud to work with you all. The Runway team is inspirational.” — Tracey Currey Board Member & Sponsor, Pony Tail Bows
