Cover will provide the following benefits if, after your booking is accepted, it is necessary and unavoidable for:
A. Your entire party to cancel or curtain your holiday due to a qualifying reason.
1. If your entire party cancels before your balance of hire is due and payable, is due we will:
• Relieve you of your responsibility for payment of your balance of hire.
• Refund your initial payment, less your cancellation protection charge.
2. If your entire party cancels after your balance of hire is due and payable, we will:
• Refund your balance of hire (or relieve you of the responsibility for payment of the balance of hire if it
has not been paid)
• Refund your initial payment less the cancellation protection charge plus a £20 administration charge.
Definition: Entitled Person means any member of the holiday party named on the booking form.
Qualifying Reasons
1. The death, bodily injury, illness (including events caused by pregnancy and childbirth) of you or any close
relative or fiancé (e) of any entitled person.
2. Travel restrictions following an epidemic, redundancy, unforeseen occupational posting, hijack, jury or
witness service of any entitled person.
3. Police requiring any entitled person to attend following theft at your home or place of business.
4. Damage rendering any entitled persons home uninhabitable.
B. Your entire party cancels your holiday for any other reason other than those stated above before your
balance of hire is due and payable we will:
• Relieve you of your responsibility for payment of your balance of hire.
Main exclusions
• Disinclination to travel.
• Claims as a result of any accident or illness of your pet.
• Any consequence of war, radioactive contamination or similar risk.
• Changes in your financial circumstances or unemployment other than redundancy.
• Claims for any period when your boat is occupied by any member of the qualifying people.
How to claim
To make a claim, please contact:
Silsden Boats (Holidays) Ltd, Canal Wharfe, Elliott Street, Silsden, Keighley, BD20 0DE,
Telephone 01535 653675 or fax 01535 658482 immediately the circumstances leading to the cancellation or
curtailment arise, then confirm in writing, supplying documentary evidence, including medical certificates where
appropriate, to support your claim. Note your whole party must cancel or curtail the holiday and the boat must
be left vacant. If you need to curtail your holiday you must return your boat to the boatyard before returning
home.
Damage Waiver
An element to cover damage waiver is also included in your hire fee, which protects you against accidental
damage to the boat or its equipment.
Exclusions to Damage Waiver
1. Speeding, reported or witnessed
2. Steering or operating the boat whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs
3. Malicious, negligent or intentional damage to the boat, its equipment, the waterway, other boats or
structure.
4. Damage to the rudder, skeg etc. due to cill damage in locks.
5. Return of the boat late, or in an unclean condition.
