President’s Message Organisational Structure Dear YMCA Members and Friends, In 2019, YMCA continued our mission to serve communities, as it has done for the last 117 years. Highlights of our achievements include YMCA being awarded the Charity Council’s Charity Transparency Award and SG Enable’s Enabling Employers Award, and having organised the first-ever YMCA Special Needs Expedition to Mount Fuji. YMCA’s Board continued to improve board effectiveness and strengthened corporate governance. In 2019, YMCA Advisory Council was re-appointed, with Mr Lim Boon Heng, Chairman of Temasek Holdings, as the newly appointed Chairman. We would like to thank Mr S Dhanabalan for his outstanding contributions as the “founding chair” of the YMCA Advisory since 2011. Advisory Council Board of Directors Board of Trustees As a Christian service organisation, YMCA continually 4 local universities. We mobilised 238 university volunteers to strives to “serve more, serve better”, and be a channel of conduct over 10,500 hours of voluntary service. God’s blessing. Allow me to share more of 2019’s highlights with you. Serving Members, Enriching Lives: We continue to engage YMCA Members through various platforms, Financial Stewardship: The efforts of our members, including Fitness and Dance Programmes and Outdoor Board Committees volunteers, board and staff to be good stewards of God’s and Adventure Programmes. Through diverse activities, resources have led to a fruitful financial performance we hope to serve as a second home where members can •Governance Committees in 2019. Highlights of July the Year SG Enable Enabling Employers Award February At the 5th Enabling Employers Awards 2019 organised by SG Enable, YMCA of Special Needs Clients’ First-Ever Singapore was awarded the Enabling Spartan Race Employers Award.
