Reading Clubs Rockers (Read-to-Me): Age: Birth through Kindergarten Goal: Read 100 books and receive a picture book goal prize Raffle: For every 20 books read to the child, earn a raffle ticket, coupon pack and a chance to win one of the grand prizes Rollers: Age: 1st through 3rd grades Goal: Read 10 hours and receive a summer reading t-shirt goal prize Raffle: For every 2 hours you read, earn a raffle ticket, coupon How to Register for a Reading Club pack and a chance to win one of the grand prizes Rappers: “Early Bird” registration begins Friday, June 8. Registration is done in person at the Reading Club table Age: 4th & 5th grades located in the Children’s area of the Library. Monday / Tuesday About Pre-School Storycrafts Pre-School StoryCrafts Guidelines & Tips for Enjoying Story Time Story time is an introduction to the world of books, literature and lifelong learning. Programs may include stories, songs, finger plays, crafts and other related activities. Ages 2 & 3 Mondays, 10:30 - 11:00 a.m. Prepare for Story Time Discuss with your child before you come the importance of being a good listener by being quiet and still so others can enjoy the stories too. Ages 3 - 5 Tuesdays, 10:30 - 11:15 a.m. Arrive Early Allow you and your little one time to hang up your coats and get ready for story time. Story times start promptly at their scheduled time. June Visit the Bathroom Leave enough time for a trip to the bathroom before story time begins. 12 Rockin’ at the Library Behavior Expectations Please be considerate of others by taking your child out of story time if he/ 18/19 Swim Fish Swim she is unhappy or disruptive. Summer Library Lego Camp Summer Library Lego Camp meets in the Hunt Room (lower level) on the fourth Monday of the month in the afternoon, from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. August-in-the-Park Programs Reading Mr. Pickles in the Park Celebration Party Tuesday, August 14, starting at 2 p.m., meet Mr. Pickles (a.k.a. Milwaukee musician, Michael Drake) in Hales Corners Wednesday, August 1 Park. Have fun singing and dancing to his 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. music and stories. Bring your blankets or chairs. Book Squad Volunteers Do you love to read? Like working with younger children? The Hales Corners Library is looking for mature, responsible, and motivated young adults between the ages of 12 and 15 to help with the Summer Reading Clubs and programs. This volunteer program starts Friday, June 8 and runs through the middle of August. More details: Program is limited to 15 young adults. Library Director selects American Red Cross babysitting certification class will be held on participants. Monday, June 18 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Participants must attend the full session to receive certification.
