Dear partner,
We are delighted to invite you to take part in the success of the second edition of the
fashion show Fashion is in the Air.
Following the success of the first edition in 2017, the creations of some of Montreal's
most prominent designers for men, women and children will again be presented on the
runway by famous models and personalities. However, many surprises await our guests!
Be part of the magic and join us on September 14th, 2018 at the St-James Theatre.
The first edition of the fashion show raised $50,000 for Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Canada. We
are counting on you to help us reach our goal of more than $100,000 on September 14th,
2018 at the St-James Theatre. These funds will be directly invested in highly promising
research projects that aim to find a cure for CF, as well as support the 11 CF clinics in
Quebec that provide essential care to the 1200 Quebec residents living with CF.
Fashion changes with the seasons, but partnering with a world-class organization that
changes the lives of thousands of people with cystic fibrosis will always be in vogue.

WHAT IS CYSTIC FIBROSIS?
Cystic fibrosis (CF) is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults.
There is no cure.
Cystic fibrosis causes various effects on the body, but mainly affects the digestive system and lungs. The degree
of cystic fibrosis involvement differs from person to person. However, the persistence and ongoing infection in
the lungs, with destruction of lungs and loss of lung function, eventually causes death in most people who have
cystic fibrosis.
It is estimated that one in every 2,500 babies born in Quebec has cystic fibrosis. Your participation in
our fashion show ‘Fashion is in the Air’ will enable us to support some of the most promising research
projects in the world, that in return will aid us in controlling this terrible disease. This will be a great
celebration of fashion and it will have a great impact in ending CF.

Cystic fibrosis Canada is a global leader in the search for a cure for CF, investing more in life-saving research and
clinical care than any other non-governmental agency in Canada.
RESEARCH
Cystic Fibrosis Canada is proud to support scientists who are searching for a cure. These researchers are
committed to discovering new therapies and interventions that improve the health and well-being of patients
with CF. Quebec has some of the most promising research projects in the world.
CLINIC CARE
Cystic Fibrosis Canada supports high-quality care for Canadians with CF at 42 CARE clinics across the
country, of which 11 are located in Quebec. Specialized care includes: lung function and capacity, monitoring
weight and diets and prescribing medication.
