FOREWORD T he Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society is dedicated to showcasing the talent and creativity of women while fostering international cooperation. Our yearly Women’s Forum Global Meeting has become an unmissable date on the international conference calendar – the place to be and to be heard. With our pioneering spirit, our will to make a difference, and the invigorating atmosphere at each of our Meetings, the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society is unique in the world. We strive to build bridges between generations, between young entrepreneurs and role models. We encourage tolerance and solidarity for and among women, wherever they are, in every sector, at all levels of society. We enable women to gather together, to realise their ambitions, to discuss topics that are no more women’s issues than they are men’s issues – with the critical difference that, in our debates, women are at the front of the room. For 13 years now, and with the support of our partner organizations and the delegates to our Meetings, the Women’s Forum has been driven by the vision that empowered women are at the very core of a better society. Because when we make life better for women, we make life better for everyone. Clara Gaymard Chiara Corazza Executive President Managing Director

WOMEN’S FORUM INITIATIVES Tracking and driving measurable progress for women’s advancement C EO Champions is an initiative launched in 2010 by EY and the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society, designed to drive progress and accountability for women’s advancement in the private and public sectors. WOMEN’S FORUM INITIATIVES Giving each woman the tools to evaluate and raise her media profile W omen in Media, a joint initiative by Deloitte and the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society, began in 2010. This initiative contributes to strengthening women’s voices and to promoting their representation as experts and professionals in media. There is a need for more female voices in our media landscape. Through intensive individual coaching workshops and a series of practical sessions, this initiative aims to give each woman the tools to evaluate and raise her media profile and practical guidance on possible improvements to her approach to various types of media. It is a unique and lasting opportunity to contribute to women’s empowerment in the wider world (thus amplifying also their impact in their professional environments) and promote equal participation through media.
WOMEN’S FORUM INITIATIVES Taking innovation to the next level with women entrepreneurs at the helm W omen in Innovation, an initiative of the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society, promotes women entrepreneurs developing forward-thinking projects that fall within new economic models (sustainable development, collaborative economy...). There are no limits on age, country of origin or sector of activity. Their common denominator is creativity and a desire to rethink business-as-usual. The Women’s Forum’s public- and private-sector partners play a decisive role as incubators, advisers and mentors. In 2016 the Women’s Forum partnered with “Imagine with Orange,” a crowdsourcing platform for innovation and a launchpad for entrepreneurs. After a two-day hackathon in Paris, finalists pitched their projects during the 2016 Women’s Forum Global Meeting.
WOMEN’S FORUM INITIATIVES Gender equality is long overdue in professional sport T he sport industry is undergoing profound change. Women, as both athletes and fans, are far more present today than at any previous point in history. At the same time, women and girls continue to suffer discrimination on the field and in the head office, in the prize money that they are offered and the media coverage they receive. The sooner women sports professionals are treated equally, the sooner the industry — and society as a whole – can reap the rewards. In 2016 the Women’s Forum for the Economy & Society launched the Women in Sport Initiative, beginning with a dedicated programme at the 2016 Women’s Forum Global Meeting. Among the sessions: • Shifting gears: When athletes become entrepreneurs • 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup: A milestone for gender parity? • Record-breakers and role models: Meet the Women in Sport • Sport as a vehicle for peace, stability and happiness The Women in Sport Initiative Global Meeting 2016 was partnered by FDJ and FFF with the support of Eurosport, Women Sports Magazine and Venus Racing.

UPCOMING Women’s Forum Rome 2017 Revitalizing Europe with women’s energy for peace and prosperity (26-27 June 2017 - Rome, Italy) W omen’s Forum Rome will gather more than 200 thought-leaders representing government and business, Nobel prizewinners and top-level personalities across all sectors from Europe and from Mediterranean countries. Our ambition is to mobilize women’s energy to bolster and restore confidence in the future of Europe, and to build new bridges and facilitate dialogue between Europe and all Mediterranean countries. The Treaty of Rome gave rise to the European Union and to the common desire to improve living standards, guarantee social protection, combat discrimination, encourage cross-border mobility and promote democracy and personal freedom. Six decades after the Treaty of Rome was signed, the European Union has been reeling from one emergency to another, and EU leaders have responded with a “roadmap” in an effort to restore confidence and rally support for its core mission: to achieve lasting peace and growth for its 500 million citizens. Women’s Forum Rome will create momentum and deliver strong messages for co-operation, growth, research & innovation, energy, infrastructure, mobility, investment & finance, education, culture. And it will provide an opportunity to discuss and take action on behalf of European values, to foster prosperity and secure peace. Commit to European values Villa Medici, Rome

UPCOMING Women’s Forum Global Meeting 2017 Engage for impact! Daring to lead in a disrupted world (5-6 October 2017 - Paris, France) I n the past year our economies and societies have undergone profound change, upending norms that had underpinned the world order for decades. Unexpected election results are rocking political and geopolitical establishments. Automation and artificial intelligence are poised to change the nature of work, with societal implications that stretch the imagination. The ubiquity of social networks is bringing individuals newfound power – and unforeseen vulnerabilities – as consumers and citizens. It is imperative for public and private organizations to embrace new ideas to reinvent themselves in the face of this disruption, to rebuild trust with employees, consumers and communities. To achieve that objective, they need new ideas, new ways of working, and a renewed recognition of the importance of women’s leadership. In this spirit of disruption, the Women’s Forum Global Meeting is convening in Paris for the first time, in the Carrousel du Louvre, where our largest- ever audience will explore issues and gather to take action. Our agenda is organized around four pillars: embracing our humanity, harnessing technology, thriving through creativity and future-proofing the workforce. This is an unprecedented opportunity for leaders, women and men, in the public and private sectors, to question their assumptions and shape the future of a world in transition. Through conversations, demonstrations and other experiences, delegates will learn from one another and uncover fresh insights that are relevant to the economic and political forces affecting their organizations and Carrousel du Louvre, Paris their lives. Engage with us for lasting impact!
