Introduction India has emerged as a global player. The state government in Odisha is keen to rope in IT and BPO (Business Process Outsourcing) firms who are looking to expand their footprint but mindful of the costs of organic growth. • Odisha plans new industrial policy to focus on creating 3 mn jobs • Metal sector's share seen at 25% in Odisha's quest to become a $1 trn economy • Odisha govt looks to sell minority stake in loss-making Neelachal Ispat • Tourism players seek Rs 3,000 cr from Centre to develop sector in Odisha • Odisha Budget go up 16% to Rs 1.39 trn, eyes 8-8.5% growth in FY20 • Numerous investments for boosting the technology section that includes coming up with State Data Center, SoC, Command Control solutions for Women safety, Smart city (Bhubaneswar & Rourkela) and Smart classroom Cyber cell for the state Government, these projects are totalling towards Rs.1,000 crore and above. VARINDIA brings to you the 12th edition of Odisha Information and Technology Fair (OITF) 2020 - the only event in Odisha that brings senior executives from the vendors, partners, press and distribution together under one, independent roof. Channel partners play a unique role in the industry, surfing through the waves of vendor success and failure, to deliver technology solutions. We will be delighted to share unique information in the keynote that will show how the channel has recorded another spectacular year despite all the turbulence in the India’s politics and economy system.
Concept • Odisha is en route to emerging as one of the most favoured destinations for IT and electronics investments. The government has recast its existing Information & Communications Technology (ICT) policy. • The Government has developed an electronics manufacturing cluster (EMC) straddling 207 acres at Bhubaneswar’s periphery. The cluster provides plug and play work ambience where investors can walk in and start businesses without ado. • A potential Smart City should have assured water and electricity supply, sanitation and solid waste management, efficient urban mobility and public transport, affordable housing, robust IT connectivity, e-governance, safety and security of citizens & health, education and economic activities. The government of Odisha is trying to look at all these aspects. • “We are looking at IT firms and BPO units who want to create and sustain jobs in Odisha. Our intent is to engage companies who are willing to expand their base in Tier-II and Tier-III locations. We have initiated a direct dialogue with these companies and are also reaching out to them through industry bodies like the National Association of Software and Services Companies,” as per Manoj Mishra, secretary, electronics & IT department, Odisha government.
Panel Discussion : Growth Opportunity For Partners in Odisha Evolve your Channel Strategy to Engage and Empower Channel Partners, who are the integral part of the growth story of every corporate. Channel partners would work as a seamless extension of your organization. They would expertly market your products, generate demand, deliver high quality service and exceed sales goals. It is an absolute fact that building and nurturing a channel is tricky. It is the right time for expanding capacities looking into those prospects in the coming times.
Target audience Odisha is the most focused state in eastern part of India in terms of implementation of ICT in the state. VARs (SIs, SPs, NIs, Distributors and technology partners) are driving technology in and around the state with affordable cost. The number of SMEs is increasing day by day with above 1000 and 1000+ Software companies scattered across Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Rourkela and Berhampur. The growth opportunity is in the sector of Education, Hospitality, BFSI, Manufacturing/Mining sector with major Govt. projects funded by DIT and World Bank. We are inviting around 100 delegates (CEO/CXOs) from Government, PSU and SME to explore on the following topics - 1) ICT Policy of Odisha helping the growth of SMEs in Odisha 2) Readiness on cyber security 3) How the EMC cluster will lead to local manufacturing - ‘Make in Odisha’ 4) Priority of the Government for promotion of IT & ITeS sector 5) Investment Opportunities and incentives by the Government
Driving Force in Odisha • Five IT Parks in the IT Hub of Eastern Region and IT SMEs (More than 300 units in and around Bhubaneswar and group of investors from Silicon Valley setting up 5000 sitter IT/ITES facility) • Government is setting up the first green field Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar. The proposed EMC at Info-valley – the second IT hub of Bhubaneswar is expected to house over 100 electronics manufacturing units, which would provide a huge boost to electronics manufacturing and job creation in Odisha. • Our event attracts senior members of the channel, which leads to an overwhelmingly middle-aged, male audience as you will notice in the keynote. We have wondered how to improve our diversity mix and are proud to introduce our Rising Stars program. This has allowed channel partners to nominate select people on their team, who would not normally be invited, in recognition of their future potential. We welcome all the Rising Stars who are joining this year and hope there will be even more next year.
