Campers will learn biking and street riding skills. Routes are mostly flat with intermediate level hills and cover 10-25 miles a day (depending on the ability of the group). Location: TBD Staff: Camper Ratio 1:5 Camp Hours: 9:00am-5:00pm Cost per week: $350 LEADER IN TRAINING (LIT) WEEKLY SESSION LIT CIT ENTERING GRADES 8–11 1 June 17–21 LIT is a 2-week FULL DAY (9:00am-5:00pm) program designed for young people who are 2 June 24–28 X interested in learning how to work with children in summer camps. A separate application is required along with the general registration forms. 3 July 1–3 (no camp July 4 & 5) Cost per 2-week session: $250 4 July 8–12 X X COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT) 5 July 15–19 X X 6 July 22–26 X ENTERING GRADES 8–11 CIT is a half-day program designed for the more experienced teen to develop his or her 7 July 29–Aug 2 X leadership skills in working with children. Acceptance into the CIT program is contingent on 8 Aug 5–9 X the approval of the Leadership Program Coordinator. A separate application is required along with the general registration forms. All CIT program applicants must successfully complete a 9 Aug 12–16 X session of the Leader-in-Training program in the current or previous summer. 10 Aug 19–21 Cost per week: $65
ALBANY YMCA CAMP BASICS LOCATIONS You will receive a calendar/letter on the first day of each camp week KINDER CUBS, GRADES K–1 explaining activities and field trips. All camps open at 7:30am and 1216 Solano Avenue, Albany close at 6:00pm as a convenience for parent work schedules; however, program activities begin at 9:00am and end at 4:00pm unless noted DISCOVERY & EXPLORER CAMPS, GRADES 2–5 otherwise on the weekly calendar. Please be sure to note special Albany location, TBD activities and off-site times. Please ask the program staff if you have AWESOME ADVENTURES, GRADES 6–8 any questions regarding the schedule. If you need specific schedule Albany Middle School, Portable 1 information prior to the first day of camp, it will be available in advance 1259 Brighton Avenue, Albany on the website the Friday prior to camp start. Occasionally, locations, times, trips, etc., may be altered without notice. Chartered school buses are used for most major field trips, but we also walk, use public buses 3 July 1–3 June 18 (AC Transit, MUNI) or take BART. If you have questions about the 4 July 8–12 June 25 mode of transportation for a specific camp or trip, please speak with 5 July 15–19 July 2 a Program Director prior to registering your child for camp. Your child will not be permitted to participate in the field trip if he/she 6 July 22–26 July 9 hasn’t arrived at the designated departure site on time. Each camp will spend 2-3 days a week on site rotating in small groups through our 4 enrichment areas. Our enrichment areas are: Science/Cooking, Group Games, Art, Swimming/Park Time

AFTER CARE 4:00–6:00pm Aftercare for middle scholl campers will be held at the Downtown Berkeley YMCA activity room. Campers will be walked over to the branch at 4:15pm and engage in activities there. There is no aftercare at the Teen Center.

Our financial assistance fund is made up of donations to the YMCA Annual Campaign by families and individuals in the community. APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE AT THE WELCOME DESK BEGINNING FEBRUARY 1. To Apply: • Complete an application even if receiving YMCA financial assistance. • Submit applications at least one month prior to the week of camp you wish to attend. • A notification email regarding your application will be sent one week after applying. • Once you receive your email notification, make sure to register for camp with $25 per week deposits. Please note: • We do not accept financial aid applications from families who are receiving subsidized funds from other agencies. • No refunds/pro-rates will be granted on past weeks of camp.
