4 YORKSHIRE Welcome to Yorkshire’s Gardens 2022 We are delighted that so many of our garden owners continue to support us and welcome visitors to their gardens after two difficult years for us all. We are also thrilled to introduce 15 new gardens to explore this year, bringing our total list to 103, including several village groups. Thanks to the generosity of these garden owners, our volunteers and visitors, the National Garden Scheme in Yorkshire raised over £150,000 in 2021, contributing to the national annual donation of over £3 million to our beneficiaries. Details of our main beneficiaries are on page 2. Thank you to everyone who helped make 2021 such a successful year. We have another great variety of gardens to visit this year - from small town gardens and allotments to large country estates. Most open on specific days and more than 50 open By Arrangement for friends, families or groups for a bespoke private visit. We are always interested in possible new gardens, and would be delighted to hear from anyone who may consider opening for us. We are also keen to increase the number of volunteers in our county team to promote and support our garden openings. If this appeals to you, please see our notice below. Once again, we would remind everyone to CHECK ONLINE before setting off to visit a garden. Openings and information are subject to change, sometimes at very short notice. Please visit our website, download our App or follow our social media @yorkshirengs for the latest information. Enjoy your garden visits! With every good wish from the Yorkshire county team. Would you like to join our team of friendly volunteers? Everyone in our Yorkshire team is a volunteer and we would welcome some extra help to support our open gardens and fundraising. If you love gardens, have a talent for organisation and enjoy meeting and talking to people, we’d be delighted to hear from you. We are also particularly keen to recruit people with specific experience of social media and publicity as well as anyone with good photography skills. Take a look at our website for more information and if this sounds like you, contact one of our County Organisers listed on page 3. www.ngs.org.uk/get-involved

YORKSHIRE 7 orkshire Advert 2016 29/7/15 11:27 am Page 3 UNCLE TOM’S® ROSE TONIC What roses have been waiting for… This new liquid plant food not only feeds roses but also promotes healthier growth and dramtically improves disease resistance. Used and recommended by professional growers -your roses will love it! How it works: Roses will benefit from the simple power of potassium phosphite, a nature-identical food. Used every week or two during the growing season, Uncle Tom’s® Rose Tonic is tanslocated rapidly to all parts of the plant through leaves and roots and delivers the essential elements of phosphorus and potassium to where they are most needed. The improved uptake of P&K counteracts the effects of soil fixation to optimise plant growth conditions, especially at times of rapid growth. It helps plants to green up quickly – yet contains no nitrogen, which often gives lush growth that is prone to disease. Independent research has shown that potassium phosphite is one of the building blocks of life and provided it is pure, it can promote healthy plant growth and improve the yield and quality of almost every crop grown in the world. Uncle Tom’s® Rose Tonic can be used as a drench or foliar spray. One litre will treat approximately 100 rose bushes for a season. Also Available as Uncle Tom’s Plant Tonic for all garden plants and vegetables available from:www.naturalgardensolutions.co.uk Available Nationwide in over 100 Garden Centres contact: Tom Nellist, Farm Fos Limited, Builth Farm, Eau Withington, Hereford HR1 3NQ, Tel: 01432 851822
