8 May 2020 Dear School Principals, One Planet Schools Programme (2020/2021 School Year) WWF-Hong Kong’s One Planet Schools Programme aims to help students develop knowledge, skills, positive values and attitudes towards sustainable living and nature conservation. In 2019/2020, we worked with over 2,300 teachers, school management teams and other stakeholders from the education sector through a variety of outdoor experiential learning activities, school outreach, teacher professional development, and school partnerships. It is our pleasure to invite you to join our One Planet Schools Programme in the 2020/2021 school year. We offer both free and fee-based programmes for you to choose from. We would be grateful if you could disseminate this programme overview to teachers in charge of Life-wide Learning, General Studies, Moral, Civic & National Education, Environmental Education, Integrated Science, Biology, Geography, STEM, Other Learning Experience and Extra-curricular Activities. Details are also available on our website at: www.wwf.org.hk/schools/en. We are very excited that the Education Centre, located at the heart of Mai Po, is ready to welcome school and student groups. The contemporary makeover with new features including the “Connect with Nature” exhibition and better equipped facilities can certainly offer an enhanced learning experience. WWF-Hong Kong fully supports the Education Bureau’s initiation of “Life-wide Learning” and offers outdoor experiential activities for cross-curricular learning. We emphasise enriching students’ out-of-classroom learning experiences by improving our outdoor learning activities and reinforcing the alignment between our programmes and the school syllabus. We are delighted to offer the new “Grade-Based” school activities across our three centres in the 2020/2021 school year. These new courses have been carefully customised to facilitate schools’ grade-based outdoor learning requirements and enhance curriculum planning. Your participation and engagement are always the motivation for us to work harder to strengthen our programmes and to further reinforce the environmental and conservation values in the education system. For enquiries, please contact our Education Department at 2526-1011 or email at education@wwf.org.hk. We look forward to helping you build a bright future where people live in harmony with nature. Yours faithfully, Yamme Leung Director, Education WWF-Hong Kong
