Week 1 Going to the Zoo: Animals Around the World 7.7 – 9.7. 2021 During this week, we will learn all about different animals and where in the world they live. Each day the children will learn about different animals, where in the world they live, and some interesting facts about them. They will be learning a song all week, which we will sing in the morning circle and before transition times. We will talk about what part of the world we’re in that day and what animals we can find there. First, kids will be shown a picture of that continent. Then, there will be a box filled with the animals we would find there. As a “warm up”, the teacher will make different animal noises to give the kids clues of what animals we may be learning about. The kids will guess and then we will take that animal out of the box until we have all of them. Movement will be a big emphasis for this week, and we will pair each animal with a different movement so kids can be engaged + associate their learning in a fun, interactive way.
