Dear Wilson Hall Family, To say that Wilson Hall has had to be flexible during the COVID-19 pandemic is an understatement. However, flexibility is also a hallmark of independent education. Wilson Hall is fortunate to retain its decision-making authority along with the ability to adjust its practices accordingly. Though I place great value on consistency, order, and tradition, the time in which we are presently operating requires us to be fluid and flexible. Sometimes we Fred Moulton Headmaster are pushed to think out of the box and the measures with which we respond to these outside issues find traction within our walls leading us to become a more comprehensive school. I have no doubt that Wilson Hall will be stronger moving forward and we are excited for what our future holds. We are on our way. Thank you for joining us! Since March, we have constantly made adjustments. Fortunately, we are blessed with an incredible community – students, faculty, parents, staff, security, maintenance, administration, counselors, paraprofessionals; everyone has contributed to the re- imagination of our program. As we prepare for your return, there will be certain traditions which may remain, however, new ideas have spawned new methodologies which will be instituted and may even become more valuable and appreciated over time. Eddie Talley To our parents, you have been fantastic partners. Thank you for your confidence, your effort, your suggestions, and especially Assistant Headmaster your patience. Our goal has been to pause, reflect, and re-imagine. Equally, our goal has been to intentionally examine a very Head of Lower School fluid situation and to ensure our return to school has prioritized the health and safety of all of our students, faculty, staff, and families in every measure taken. To this end, we will be requiring a new document to help ensure the health and safety of our entire community. This document has been developed as a safe-guard and will be included as an addendum to the school enrollment contract. We have entitled this document, “The Wilson Hall Community Health Commitment” and ask that when you receive it, please sign and return the form acknowledging that you accept the risk of returning to our campus. No matter how the COVID-19 pandemic unfolds, Wilson Hall has taken the necessary measures to offer a rigorous academic program, to re-imagine its student activities, and to create an environment conducive to re-forming healthy bonds in our classrooms and hallways. It is with great anticipation that we welcome you back to campus. Stacey Reaves Head of Upper School Fred Moulton, Headmaster 2
