WICLINE 115 AFS Technical Information Integral sun blind Operation and maintenance instructions [int] Test adjustment device for composite window Venetian blinds 1. General With the test adjustment device for Venetian blind 4040106, in addition to the procedure in the UP or DOWN direction, it is possible to set the end positions easily and to restore the factory settings. By means of the buttons short command sequences are sent to the drive which are indicated by LEDs, The test adjustment device is designed for the optional operation of the DC drives of the Venetian blind 4040106 with 12 V or 24 V nominal voltage. 2. Normal operation Using the UP or DOWN keys, the drives can be moved in the corresponding direction. The drives move in each direction of rotation at creep speed for about 3 s and then go into fast speed. With the transition to fast speed, the movement commands are stored. Stop by pressing the UP or DOWN button again. 3. WICLINE 115 AFS Technical Information Integral sun blind Operation and maintenance instructions [int] 4. Restoring the factory setting By pressing shortly the button „Default settings“ the factory settings will be restored. For the drive fitted to the blind, it is recommended, prior to restoring the factory settings, to run the blind to its lower end position. After restoring the factory settings, a position learning run can again be started (see Pt. 5). 5. Commissioning Upon delivery, the drive is in factory settings condition; the posi- tion corresponds to the lower end position. • Install the drive in the blind when it is let down. • For the position teach-in run execute an up command, the drive can only be moved in the up direction. • The drive goes into latching after 3 seconds. • Run the drive until the mushroom button. After pressing the mushroom button, commissioning is completed. After this position teach run, the upper end position (corresponding to the mushroom button) and the lower end position are set. Fur- ther adjustments are only necessary if deviating upper or lower end positions are desired. Warning: The drive determines the distance between the lower end position and the actuation of the mushroom button during the position teach run. In normal operation, if the mushroom button is manually actuated, for example, before the actual end position of the mushroom is reached, the drive stops. If the mushroom end switch is no longer actuated, the run can be continued in the up direction until the actual mushroom end position. If the run is con- tinued in the down direction from the position at which the mush- room button was manually operated, the drive runs the full distance that it has determined during the position teach run; In this case, the lower end position can be overrun. In a subsequent run in the up direction, the drive in any case runs to the end of the mush- room end switch and then has the correct distance back to the lower end position. WICLINE 115 AFS Technical Information Integral sun blind Operation and maintenance instructions [int] Transport recommendation In this leaflet you will find our recommendations, hints and tips for the safe handling of our products. The aim is to prevent accidents and injuries. Always wear the recommended personal protective equipment (PPE). Always remember safety! For safe and professional transport and storage of the elements, use only suitable and designated transport racks. Safety notice: • The transport racks must not be overloaded! Observe the maximum permissible payload. The individual elements must not exceed the depth of the support surface. • The element is placed on the racks with a slight inclination on the transport units. If the angle of inclination is too small, the element can fall over without additional external influence. • Racks must be secured against unintentional rolling away! • Never store racks in traffic zones. For compound windows with integral blinds, the following must be observed: • Run the blind completely upwards • Slide in spacers between the top rail of the plate pack and the uppermost slats for securing all ladder cords. Transport and storage of the units: • Upright element transport if possible. • In the case of high elements, they can be transported lying vertically. • Transport frame and leaf separately. • If the frame and sash are transported together, distance blocks must be inserted between the frame and sash to relieve the load on the hardware. • Please pay attention to proper shimming of the glass panes • The elements must be stored in such a way that they cannot fall over. • The supports and the anti-tilt device must not cause any damage to the element and must be arranged parallel to the surface of the element. • Stacked elements must be protected with suitable intermediate layers. • If possible, window elements must be stored in dry, well-ventilated and weatherproof rooms. • For temporary storage in the open air and on construction sites, the element must be covered; e. g. by means of suitable tarpaulins or hoods. • Window elements must also be protected against direct sunlight and moisture before installa- tion. • This applies in particular to window elements that are glazed with coated or dyed glasses, orna- mental, cast and wire-reinforced glasses, as heat cracks can occur more frequently. WICONA® doc-0001149850_c 12.03.2019 26
WICLINE 115 AFS Technical Information Integral sun blind Operation and maintenance instructions [int] Professional transport of the racks by forklift or crane • Make sure that the racks are only lifted at the designated places! • If elements are transported above head height, helmets must be worn! General information: • The transport of heavy window units must be carried out in such a way that the element is not transported over the glass panes. • Temporary lifting of the glazing unit on only one pane for manipulation and insertion is possible, but should be kept to a minimum. • For transports with large differences in height (mountain passes, air freight) it is necessary to use a pressure compensating valve for multi-pane insulating glass due to the difference in air pres- sure from the interspace between the panes and the climate. The manufacturer of the insulating glass must be informed in advance! Caution: • Since a wide variety of high-quality products are used in windows, special attention must be paid to these. For example, you should request transport instructions / recommendations for the individual products, e. g. : • Transport regulations of the blind manufacturers • Transport regulations of the glass manufacturers Recommendations on the correct handling of ready-to-install windows and external doors can also be found in the VFF Leaflet TLE. 01 (October 2015) Always remember safety! Follow the recommendations and do not put yourself or third parties in danger. WICONA® doc-0001149850_c 12.03.2019 27
WICLINE 115 AFS Technical Information Integral sun blind Operation and maintenance instructions [int] Control guidelines for electrical systems The built-in motors are drives with integrated planetary gear, brake, top and bottom end switch and thermal protection switch, so they are not just electric motors, rather a com- plete drive system. In some respects the drives used DO NOT correspond to other commercial electrical consumers. It is therefore essential to observe the following notes and the safety instruc- tions. Installation, testing, commissioning and troubleshooting of the electrical system may only be carried out by a qualified electrician (according to VDE 0100). Improper connection can cause considerable danger for the user. • Refer to the wiring diagram! • We accept no liability for damages that could result from improper installation. • Never run motors simultaneously with UP and DOWN signal! • Keep switching pauses between UP and DOWN commands of approx. 0.5 sec- onds (often neglected on Instabus EIB systems). Radio interference suppression The drives are suppressed according to valid VDE standards and EC directives. When operating with other devices containing sources of interference, the installer must ensure that the entire system complies with the applicable regulations due to the radio interfer- ence suppression requirement. Operation in wet areas The drives are splash proof, for use in wet areas, the VDE regulations among others 0100/ part 701, 702 must be observed and complied with and also those of the local power supply company and TÜV. In addition to the instructions and notes documented in this manual, the instruc- tions and notes of the respective instruction manuals supplied by the drive manufacturers must be observed. WICONA® doc-0001149850_c 12.03.2019 28
WICLINE 115 AFS Technical Information Integral sun blind Operation and maintenance instructions [int] Control guidelines for blind motors Never connect more than one motor to a single pole switch! Only with group controls can several motors be operated with one switch. Switches for blind motors must be electrically and mechanically locked. Warning: If the above instructions are not followed, if the connections are not compliant with the standards or if the recognized regulations of technology are disregarded, neither the drive manufacturer nor WICONA shall be liable for any material or personal injury. Have the electrician confirm that the electrical connection has been carried out in accord- ance with the wiring diagrams (see instructions of drive manufacturer), the general instructions, the safety instructions and the control guidelines! Electrical connection for blind motors Please refer to the chapters "Control guidelines for blind motors" and the "Safety instructions"! WICLINE 115 AFS Technical Information Integral sun blind Operation and maintenance instructions [int] Commissioning / functional check Run the system up and down completely at least once. During extension, nobody should be in the travel range or under the system. After installing and setting up the composite windows in the façade, the blinds must be checked for damage and free running and can be adjusted if necessary. In the case of systems with a motor drive, automatic controls or switches must never be used for test runs where direct visual contact with the system is not guaranteed We recommend the use of a test cable for temporary motor operation. Check all settings. Check all connections for stability. Check again the fixing of the blind support on the mounting surface. Warning! Inadequate attachment of the stainless steel brackets can cause the system to crash; there is a risk of injury or death! Clean elements (see care tips). Hand over this manual to the user, as well as any instructions from the motor, switch and control manufacturers. Instruct the user, whereby you fully explain the safety and usage instructions for the system. Surface treatment 2.1 Anodizing The guideline is based on the leaflet "Visual assessment of anodized surfaces on aluminium". This guideline was published by the Association of Windows and Façade Manufacturers - Issue October 2007. This guideline applies to products in ready to install or installed state. The anodically produced surface must comply with DIN 17611 or the standards cited there and the Qualanod regulations. Test When checking for characteristics, the visual plan view of the visible surface is decisive. The test is usually performed on external surfaces at a distance of 5 metres and on internal surfaces at a distance of 3 metres. Exterior surfaces should be inspected with diffused exterior light, inside surfaces with normal illumi- nation, at a viewing angle perpendicular to the surface. Requirement The abnormalities of the characteristics are strongly influenced by the gloss level of the surface. The higher the gloss level, the more noticeable the characteristics appear. WICLINE 115 AFS Technical Information Integral sun blind Non-fault catalogue composite Venetian blind VB 25 [int] 2.3 Filiform corrosion The guideline is based on the leaflet "Filiform corrosion - prevention of coated aluminium compo- nents". This guideline was published by the Association of Windows and Façade Manufacturers - Issue March 2009. Introduction This form of corrosion occurs when chloride containing constituents of the atmosphere act on coated steel or coated aluminium. This type of corrosion differs from other forms of corrosion by the typical thread-like course. Filiform corrosion is observed for example on offshore islands as well as coastal areas, in some types of swimming pools and occasionally due to direct salt gritting contamination. The risk area decreases with increasing distance from coastal areas - up to 30 km. Influencing factors • T he main criterion is the presence of chlorides, which in connection with humidity leads to the formation of electrolytes • Current pretreatment processes (chromate coating according to EN 12487) can not prevent the occurrence of filiform corrosion with absolute certainty • All standard paint systems can exhibit filiform corrosion after appropriate weathering time, if they are provided with a pretreatment based on yellow or green chromate coating or chromium free systems • Filiform corrosion occurs mainly at processing areas such as cut edges, drainage openings, mechanical damage (scratches), rarely at defects of the pretreatment and the paint film • With appropriate regular cleaning the development of filiform corrosion can be delayed • Filiform corrosion can occur with all aluminium alloys used WICONA® doc-0001149850_c 12.03.2019 44
WICLINE 115 AFS Technical Information Integral sun blind Non-fault catalogue composite Venetian blind VB 25 [int] 3. Test The filiform corrosion resistance of the applied coating can be determined by a test according to EN ISO 4623-2. Resistant systems show no substantial infiltration of the paint film during the test after 1000 hours. Pretreatment According to the current state of knowledge, filiform corrosion in areas at risk can be avoided with certainty only by pre-anodization instead of a chromate pretreatment. In contrast to normal anodization, the process is performed at significantly higher electrolyte tem- peratures and high current densities in a sulphuric acid bath. Repair of damaged components For the renovation, the damaged area is locally sanded down to the base material and additionally provided with a zinc primer. After that, the top coat is applied. visible surfaces of slats WICONA® doc-0001149850_c 12.03.2019 45
