Semester One Reports and Parent Teacher
Interviews

It was pleasing to see that many, many students are
ac vely involved with their learning here at Brigidine. As I
read through the reports, it was clear that most students
are truly working to their poten al and enjoying strong
academic results. I encourage all students to con nue
with this effort and to commit strongly to their studies
this semester.

Parents are reminded to book an interview me with
their daughter’s teachers this week. Online bookings
have been available since Monday and will remain open
un l Friday at 9pm. I encourage parents, with their
daughters, to meet with the teachers and reflect on
the Semester One Report, so as to effec vely plan for
improvement during this semester. The interviews will
run on Thursday 19 July and Tuesday 24th July. Please
check the mes in the calendar sec on.

New Zealand Ski Trip

There was great excitement, anticipating the

offer. I understand that the girls were wonderful
ambassadors for the College with exemplary behaviour
displayed throughout the seven days. Congratula ons
and thanks to Miss Carly Richardson for all her hard work,
detailed organisa on and the extraordinary care of the
girls during the whole experience. Many thanks also to
Ms Dana Wedge and Ms Sarah Daff for their supervision
and care during the trip.

individual and team performances from our athletes.
Results are included in the Sports sec on and trophies

to ‘Live and Learn like a Champion’.

WET AND WILD WINNING WAYS - 11JULY2012 ISSUE18
Sports News (contd.)
From 2nd to 6th July, Brigidine Open A Netball and Soccer teams par cipated in the Southern Skies Tournament. The event was a great
opportunity for all involved as it gave us the chance to mingle with a variety of interna onal and domes c students on a compe ve and
social level.

The Netball girls played hard for the first two days and were placed in the Bowl Tier to play in the Grand Final. Our hard work paid off as we
played an excep onal game and became Premiers of the Bowl Tier for 2012. I would like to commend the girls for their commitment and
great sportsmanship throughout the tournament.

A huge thank you goes to Ms Richardson and Ms Wedge for their coaching and support over the course of the week. Thanks also to all the
parents who transported us and cheered us on.

Our enthusias c Soccer team took to the field eager and excited to play teams from around Brisbane and New Zealand. Heading into the
week, we played two games a day. Although the girls were red, we s ll looked forward to the very enjoyable social ac vi es held for all
athletes. As the week went on, the girls improved not only as individuals but as a team.

Through hard work and dedica on, we placed 4th in the U18 Girls’ Football Division. Georgia Appelhof earned a well-deserved spot on the
Best and Fairest All Stars Team.

Overall, it was an amazing experience and we were very fortunate to have this opportunity.

On behalf of the team, I would like to say a massive thank you to Mr Wilson for coaching us and to Ms Richardson. Thank you also to all the
parents and the younger girls who stepped up and played.

We are urgently looking for TOUCH FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL REFEREES for the BSGSA season. The dates are 5th, 12th
and 19th September, 10th, 17th, 24th and 31st October and 7th November. All games are played on a Wednesday a ernoon

The Basketball games are held here at the College and also at Bardon SS.

Touch Football games are held at a central venue. At this stage, one Division will definitely be at Shaw Park but I am unsure
