ERA-NET CORE Organic Programme CO - Coordination of European Transnational Research in Organic Food and Farming Systems The CORE Organic was funded in 2004 and presently is an network of 26 European ministries and research councils from 19 European countries/regions funding research in organic food and farming on transnational level. Over 15 years of its work, under CORE Organic I, CORE Organic II, CORE Organic Plus and CORE Organic Cofund, the network launched 7 calls, funded 57 research projects for a total amount of 57.8M EUR. CO Third Call 2021 Rationale and Scope The EU has adopted ambitious targets to increase organic production as part of the European Green Deal indicated in the Farm to Fork and Biodiversity Strategies under the objective of reaching 25% of the EU’s agricultural land under organic farming by 2030. This high goal entails specific knowledge and research needs that can be sustained through new and innovative solutions related to the organic sector addressed under the CORE Organic Cofund Third Call 2021 on ‘Organic farming systems for improved mixed plant and animal production‘. The expected impacts of the Third Call 2021 focus on organic food systems adopting mixed farming practices, supporting animal health and welfare, innovative cropping and production systems as well as feed production and biodiversity, aiming at accommodating the growing demand for more organic products, supporting the organic farming regulations, the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP), the EU Farm-to- Fork and the Biodiversity Strategies.

Departing from the organic principles projects must encompass mixed farming systems and the different geographical and climatic conditions covered by the funding partners participating in the Call. Electronic Submission System https://www.submission-coreorganic.eu/
Electronic Submission System Before the submission of the proposal, it is compulsory to insert your personal data in “My Profile” and “My Organization” sections
Electronic Submission System Once registered, you can also use the Partnering Forum if you are interested in finding partners for creating your consortium
Electronic Submission System Use the Electronic Submission System (ESS) to submit your proposal It is highly recommended to submit the final version of the proposal well in advance of the deadline (8 March 2021 – 11 am CET) to avoid failure due to last-minute technical problems.
Electronic Submission System Use the Electronic Submission System (ESS) to submit your proposal Each proposal consists of 3 parts: PART A • General information about the project + coordinator information including budgetary table + consortium partners’ information and budgetary table. • To be filled in online PART B • Overall budgetary table • Automatically generated in the ESS PART C • Project description • Download the template provided in the ESS, fill in and submit it as PDF file.
Electronic Submission System Use the Electronic Submission System (ESS) to submit your proposal Only the Project Coordinator can start, modify and submit the proposal. When entering in the ESS, he/she has to select this key.
Electronic Submission System Use the Electronic Submission System (ESS) to submit your proposal Each Project Partner will be invited by the Project Coordinator. The Project Partner can only accept and modify the partnership data. When entering in the ESS, he/she has to select this key.
Electronic Submission System Step 1: The project coordinator registers at https://www.submission-coreorganic.eu and fills out his/her profile information in the Metadatabase. Step 2: All partners within the consortium register at https://www.submission- coreorganic.eu and fill out their profile information in the Metadatabase. Step 3: The project coordinator logs-in on the ESS and can start the submission process. The project coordinator fills out all information requested.
Electronic Submission System Step 4: The project coordinator selects all partners within the consortium. The partners will appear in the list if they are registered on the Metadatabase. Please note that only once the coordinator has filled in all the information requested of PART A (information update is always available before submitting), he/she can invite the partners. The coordinator has to select each partner from the list, then by clicking on (+) the partner will be automatically invited by e-mail.
Electronic Submission System Step 5: Each partner receives an alert via email and logs-on to https://www.submission- coreorganic.eu where he/she validates the partnership. Project partners fill out all information requested (partner information + budgetary table).
Electronic Submission System PART A (to be filled in by the coordinator and the consortium partners) • Project general information • Consortium Coordinator (coordinator information including own budgetary table) Please carefully read the Call rules and the national regulations before filling in the budgetary table

Electronic Submission System PART B (Automatically generated in the Electronic Submission System) • Overall budgetary table: Total budgetary table and country summary tables Total eligible budget per country must not exceed 70 % of the total eligible project budget in order to achieve balanced partnerships and ensure that responsibility and risks are shared.
Electronic Submission System Step 6: The project coordinator checks if Part A is complete. Step 7: The project coordinator uploads Part C as one unprotected PDF file in the ESS. The Word file “Full proposal template Part C CORE Organic Third Call 2021” can be found on the website.
Electronic Submission System PART C (Template to be downloaded, filled in and uploaded) • Project description • Ethical issues
Electronic Submission System Step 8: The project coordinator checks the system generated PDF of the whole project proposal and presses submit. Before submitting, you can create and save the final PDF. When everything is ready, you can proceed and submit the proposal. When you click on "yes" you won't be able to modify your proposal anymore.
Electronic Submission System Step 8: The project coordinator checks the system generated PDF of the whole project proposal and presses submit. If all the information and documents have been uploaded, the proposal will be correctly sent. After submission you will receive a confirmation e-mail. You will be able to see your submission everytime you enter in the ESS.
