MISSION MOMENT SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY My Y Story - Cheryl Lynne Damron I want to thank the staff and trainers at the YMCA for helping everyone during this difficult time. You all are amazing! I want to share my Weight loss Journey and why I am so thankful for you all. In 2017 I was diagnosed being pre-diabetic, my doctor wanted me to go on medicine and I said no I will take the weight off. I started on my fitness pal on 1200 calories, I lost 40 pounds and was feeling good about myself. My Dad got sick in October and passed away and I lost focus. I gained 25 pounds back. In April of 2018, a friend posted her story on Facebook and everything I read I said that is me. I reached out to her and she was going to the Hannibal Clinic weight loss program. I called and made a appointment and started May 23, 2018. Since that day I am 96 pounds down and 111 overall since 2017. I wish I could say it’s been easy but it hasn’t. I am so longer pre-diabetic and off 1 blood pressure medication and acid reflux medication. I feel so much better about myself and I have a huge support system. My sister- in-law Susan Wathen and I have been personal training together, Shawn Geralds was our first trainer and Olivia Hamilton is our trainer now. Thank you Olivia and Susan for pushing me farther than I ever thought I could go! I have met so many great people at the YMCA and I appreciate everyone’s support! I hope that I can be a Inspiration to someone who is struggling because I definitely know how it feels. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to thank you all!! TELL US YOUR Y STORY Every day, the YMCA of Hannibal makes a positive and lasting impact on the people in our community. From education programs, like our After-school Program and Summer Day Camp program, to wellness initiatives, such as personal training and Y Fit Evaluation, our Y strengthens the foundations of the Hannibal Community. Your experiences inspire us to serve you better and inspire others to lead healthier, happier lives and we want to hear from you! Submit your story’s to the front desk. 20

For you have been bought with a price: therefore, glorify God in your body.” After reading this, Danielle realized she was not doing this.
