The County Cupboard is located at 303 W Main St in Wautoma. If you have any questions, feel free to call 920-787-3488. *Next month’s Business After Five will be Thursday, May 14th at Creative Looks Salon in Wautoma.* New Member Introductions Please help us welcome our newest members into the Waushara Area Chamber of Commerce! This class will be taught by Master Instructor Michael Nelson. This class will teach you excellent ground and standing self-defense techniques. There are only 10 spots open and will be reserved for ages 12 and over. Call AMAA at (920) 229-2622 to reserve your spot. Patterson Memorial Library-Closed For the first time, the library will close for an extended period of time. This is in response to the nova Cornoavirus Covid -19. A lot of thought went into the decision and it was not made lightly, but we feel for the safety of our staff and community it is a decision that needed to
be made. While the decision was made to indefinitely close - what this really means is that as the virus runs its course, which has shown to be from 6-8 weeks, we will reopen the building in April. Staff will be working on projects we haven't had time to complete as well as working to sanitize spaces and materials. We are going to offer "curbside delivery" - we ask you to give us a call at 920-622-3835, when you need a new book or dvd, and give us some time - if it is in our building, we'll check it out and bag it up for you and you can come to the library to pick it up! If you are shut-in, and in need something, give us a call, and we'll deliver it to you! We'll try this Monday through Friday - during the hours of 10am-5pm - let's see if it works! In other good news, we have turned the wi-fi on 24/7 so that access to the internet is available. Please be respectful of other’s needs, there is only so much bandwidth! Please be advised that the Winnefox Library System is closed and we will not receive any deliveries and all holds have been suspended. We know this is a big step and an inconvenience at the least, however, we feel it is important to try and help stem the spread of this virus. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding, Kent, Caryn, Rena and Helen - Your library staff! Silvercryst Supper Club & Resort While we are still taking serious precautionary measures with our staff and cleaning, we understand that personal space is a critical thing. To ease your comforts and to please your taste buds, we will also be offering our DINING ROOM menu to go until things start to settle down. You will have your choice of entree, potato, and choice of dressing for salad. (Bread basket available upon request). The original take-out menu is still available as well. We will continue to work effortlessly to make our restaurant a safe place. We appreciate the patience from each and every one of you as we navigate through this hectic time. Two20 Main & Two Oaks North Golf Course There is a lot of uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, but what we do know is that it is already affecting all of us. In a very short time, we have noticed a drop in customers which has made it very difficult as an owner to take care of my staff. I am trying to not have to cut anyone's hours, however being a service-based business many of my staff rely as much or more on their tips than their hourly wage. As more people stay home instead of dining out that means fewer tips are available for our staff. I definitely understand that we all need to do our part to prevent the spreading of this virus, and I hope like everyone that this will soon pass. In the meantime, I would like to ask for help in taking care of my staff and in turn will give a little back to you. I will be offering gift certificates for both Two20 Main and Two Oaks North Golf Course with a 10% bonus as well as a 10% match that I will give directly to my employees. The way this will work for example: you buy a $100 gift certificate and you will receive an additional $10 gift certificate for free...I will then match the 10% and give $10 to my employees. I truly think this can be a win-win and help us all get through a difficult time. Certificates will be available in any dollar amount, may be used for food, beverage, golf, or
merchandise, will have no expiration date, and can be purchased at either location in person or over the phone. In addition to the gift certificates, we will have our full menu always available as take-out and we are looking into possible delivery options. As we will be limited to the number of guests we can serve, I have decided to open on Mondays and Tuesdays starting Tuesday, March 17th for carry-out from 11am-8pm...please stop in and see us and remember we will be offering our Gift Certificate Promotion for the next couple weeks. I have decided to postpone our Wednesday Night Cornhole League until further notice as it does not adhere to the social distancing guidelines set forth by the DHS. Thank you all so much for your support and understanding during this extremely difficult time for all. Moose Inn Supper Club We have been monitoring the situation that has captured everyone’s attention over the last few weeks regarding the Covid 19 virus. As a restaurant/ catering business we have guidelines put in place to keep our employees and the public safe whether you visit us or at The Moose Inn or you enjoy one of our delicious meals catered at an event. Our experience in the catering field over the last 20 years has presented many challenges to providing a safe and quality meal to customers. Lunch Creek Vineyard & Winery For the health and safety of our staff, customers, and small community, I have decided to cancel our event this Saturday with the Marquette County Farm Bureau, as well as temporarily not offer wine tasting or wine by the glass. I will continue to be open for the purchase of bottled wine. I will keep you informed as we watch the progress in the state and our community, I am taking these measures to do our part in the community and hope to
improve things for the future. I want to thank you in advance for your continued support, and will look forward to serving you your favorite in the very near future. In the meantime, feel free to contact me, I can have orders ready to make things as convenient for you as possible. Blue Ribbon Kids Day Cancelled Waushara County’s largest free family fun and resource fair, Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day has been canceled by event organizers. The decision to cancel the event was made following recommendations issued by the State of Wisconsin Department of Health Services in response to the coronavirus outbreak. The Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day is traditionally held the first weekend of April during National Child Abuse Prevention Month. The free family fun and resource fair hosts more than 1000 guests and features hands-on activities, informational exhibits, snacks and family entertainment. The Blue Ribbon Kid’s Day Committee encourages the public to join others across the state of Wisconsin to recognize April as Child Abuse Prevention Month by wearing the color blue on Wear Blue Day - Friday, April 3rd. Wear Blue Day is a state-wide campaign recognizing the importance of providing all children with a safe and nurturing environment and offering support to all parents to support healthy family development. Wear Blue Day pictures can be posted on social media using the #pinwheelsforpreventionwi hashtag. Appointments Postponed for Free Tax Filing Assistance The current outbreak of COVID-19 has resulted in significantly more severe illness and deaths for elderly individuals and those with underlying health conditions. In order to protect these most vulnerable members of our communities it is strongly recommended these individuals immediately begin to avoid non-essential mass gatherings. We understand that these recommendations are very difficult for us and our clients who have the need to file taxes. However, we need to keep our Volunteers and our Clients as safe as possible. We have always followed the guidelines that were implemented by schools. Because the governor has now directed all schools close until April 6, 2020, we will be suspending our site hours until that date as well. However, we will reassess the situation constantly and forward any changes to you as they occur. Should we need to add additional tax site days after this pandemic has been contained, we will do so. You are all very important to CAP Services, Inc. and our VITA program. One thing to remember about taxes….the deadline of April 15, 2020 isn’t written in stone for those folks who will receive refunds. Only for those folks who need to pay. We will be monitoring the IRS as well to see if they extend the deadline for Federal tax filing. For those of you wishing to file your 2019 Homestead, please keep in mind that deadline is April 15, 2024!!
