ABOUT THE MUSEUM "Victoria museum" - a museum of costume and style 1830-1920. The museum is outstanding from several points of view. This is not just a unique costume museum, where Kievites and guests of the city can get acquainted with rare exhibits from a private collection. This is a museum that reflects humanity's ability to make such rapid changes, because clothes and accessories are a kind of litmus that reflects not only the social status of a person, but also the economic and political situation in the country. Victoria museum is a kind of bridge between Europe and Ukraine. It reflects the reality that they tried to erase from the history of Ukraine. Today this museum, which bears the name "Victoria", is a museum of the victory of man over circumstances, the victory of time over decay, the victory of the individual over the conventions in which society puts it at one time or another. The museum is equipped taking into account the most modern requirements of the museum business. This concerns, first of all, the organization of the exposition. You can fully view the exhibits, because they are located at a sufficient distance from each other, and also flawlessly lit. Each exhibit is attributed and entered into the knowledge base. An appropriate climate has been created in the room, and sunlight harmful to the costumes does not get inside - so the exhibits can be stored in perfect condition for many years. Indeed, such a museum is a huge contribution to the cultural life of Kiev. It plays an educational function, because schoolchildren and students willingly come to such a not boring museum space to get acquainted with the history. The Victoria Museum is a confirmation that modern world trends are coming to Kiev, even in such an elegant form - a museum of costume. This makes our city a truly European capital.
ABOUT THE OWNER Victoria Lysenko is the founder and curator of the Victoria Museum, the creator and ex-owner of the Wheel of Life publishing house, the author of the books Keys to Oneself and The Way to the Victoria Museum. She completed an internship at the V&A vaults (Victoria and Albert Museum, London). She completed a curatorial training course at V&A. The founder of the museum, Victoria Lysenko, studied museum work in London with world-renowned museum experts. Victoria completed a rich training program, mastered all aspects of museum planning, marketing, curation issues, preparation of exhibitions, and documentation. During the preparation, Victoria visited many museums - the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Textile Department, the British Museum, the Fashion and Textile Museum, exploring different approaches to organizing exhibitions. Consulting with experts before starting a great business is a modern global approach that, above all, protects against amateurism. But, despite the professional approach to business, the creation of the museum did not take long. Victoria was trained in October 2016 and in May 2017 she opened her own museum, where the first exhibition took place. By 2021, Victoria Lysenko has expanded her collection to more than 1200 exhibits, organized 12 thematic exhibitions, and sets high strategic goals for her museum.

THE MISSION AND MAIN IDEA OF VICTORIA MUSEUM Through the presentation of fashion, style, history of costumes, touch the beauty, revive historical roots, immerse yourself in urban culture of Ukraine 19-th century. The Victoria Museum is a place between Ukraine and Europe, partly like our land. The whole museum is a symbol of peremogy - the specialness over the surroundings, the hour over the tlіn, the historical truth - over the paths of life. Victoria Museum In view of the fact that the Ukrainian intelligentsia lived before the revolution, and that it was a small part of the Ukrainian homelands until the history of the Ukrainian birth was erased. The museum is a private one, created by the master of one woman - Viktoria Lysenko. The same museum is a special way to reach one specific people, as she killed her forces and admonishments, if she set up such a unique museum in the capital.

HISTORICAL EXCURSION There is such a parable. During World War II, Churchill was presented with the country's budget. Having looked through the document, he asked: - And where are the costs of culture? - So the war is going on! What culture? - If there is no culture, then why are we fighting then? Only such an approach to culture allows the state to hope for its independence. The museum opened in 2017, when there was a war in the country. The choice fell to invest in culture as an alternative sphere during the crisis. By raising the level of culture, we can influence the well-being of both an individual family and the entire country. The museum makes it possible to realize the values that are characteristic of all people: - traditions - preservation of family and cultural norms, - benevolence - devotion to loved ones, concern for joint leisure and well-being, - stimulation - striving for novelty and change, - conformity - adherence to rules and social norms, - independence - freedom to determine one's own actions, develop personal ideas and abilities. The museum helps in the realization of these values, removes the accumulated aggression, leads to mutual understanding, deepening ties with the past.
