Elevation Studios presents “Virtual Reality” June Concert 2021!
We are beyond excited to invite you to join this year’s new reimagined performance
opportunity! It has been quite the year to say the least. We have all managed to alter the way
oppo
we do life, so it is no surprise that an altered way to perform would only be too natural. We will
be filming and live-streaming this year’s show from the theatre. We are excited to give our
dancers the opportunity to dance in a theatre with the excitement only a theatre can bring, the
feel of the stage under their feet, the warmth of the bright lights shining on their faces, and the
educational experience that comes with theatre etiquette and knowledge. There is truly nothing
like performing on a stage and for some students it is the very thing that sparks a life long love
for dance.

Signing up to be part of this experience will ensure each dancer a unique performance
opportunity along with a high quality video keepsake. Dancers will receive a fabulous costume
and have the opportunity to enjoy ample stage time, which includes blocking, stage direction,
lighting, and performing with a camera crew! The concert will be live streamed for friends and
family to view at home or perhaps in an outside theatre (you can get creative).
Upon signing up for our June Concert, dancers will learn a dance in each concert class while
continuing the same high quality technical instruction that Elevation Studios is known for.
Dancers may continue to learn the choreography from home on Zoom or in person but all
participants must join for in person class taking by the first week of April. This way, the faculty
pa
has time to stage their dancers into the dance and get them ready for the theatre. Due to
physical distancing regulations, we will have staggered rehearsal times. Although we will not be
performing in front of a live audience this year, we are proud to provide a beautiful solution that
gives us the best of both worlds.
If we have learned anything from this past year, it is that we are full of resilience and have the
ability to adapt to make the most out of otherwise hard times. Dance is something that saves us
from the sadness of reality, it is there to bring joy to those who watch it, and it is there to give an
escape to those who use it for self expression. Dance can make life not seem so lonely and it
has the ability to heal the heart and soul. We look forward to the day when we get to perform
LIVE once again for our family and friends. When we get to hear the loud murmur of the
audience right before the curtain goes up and everything goes silent. When we get to hug each
dancer and congratulate
cong them on a job well done. But until then, we think that this is a pretty
lovely solution and the opportunity to step foot on stage feels like a triumph!
PS - If the state and county guidelines permit in person events by May 3rd we will consider ticket
sales and having families in person for the show.

CONCERT PROGRAM
EACH MINI YOUTH and BEGinning YOUTH class will perform their dance in one of our
2 shows. Dancers will learn their dance during their regularly scheduled class.

CHOREOGRAPHY:
Beginning in February, your dancer will start to learn choreography for our show. Once this begins, you
can expect ½ of the class time to be focused on technique while the other ½ will be spent
rehearsing. It is imperative that your dancer practice at home in order to retain the choreography,
movement, style and musicality. Instructors of the mini youth classes will periodically record video of
the choreography of the dance so your dancer can practice at home.
ATTENDANCE:
Consistency is ALWAYS key to any dancer’s success and progress in the classroom. However, once
we enter the rehearsal process, their presence in class becomes even more critical. Missing
choreography and falling behind not only creates anxiety within the child, but also negatively affects
the dancers who are attending class regularly. To ensure a positive experience leading up to the show,
we request that your child’s attendance remain VERY consistent throughout. Please note that if your
dancer misses and takes a make up dance, the class will not be working on the same dance in the
make up class.

We order costumes in March, which is why we collect the costume fee as early as we do. If you have
not paid your costume fee by the deadline, we will be unable to order you a costume. We recommend
that you pay concert fees early to avoid any missed deadlines.

A ONE-TIME PAYMENT of $90
This fee pays for all studio and theatre tech and dress rehearsals, as well as a custom designed
Concert t-shirt and a digital link to an 1080p HD Video of the show. You pay this fee ONLY ONCE -
whether your dancer is in 1 dance or 3. No matter how extensive their participation, this price does
not change. Your participation fee must be paid by, MARCH 27th.
MAY 16, 2021
PRICES START AT $40 FOR AN INDIVIDUAL SHOT.
Regardless of whether or not you plan to order photos, we request that all dancers be present for their
group photo. There is no obligation to order photos.
A group picture is included when you order an individual shot. Group shots are NOT sold separately, so
you must order an individual shot to receive a group picture.
Photo shoots can run ahead or behind schedule. Please plan to arrive 20 minutes earlier than your
scheduled photoshoot. You may want to call the studio to see if the shoot is running ahead, on time or
behind schedule.
All photos will be digital and will be accessible online. Digital images will come with a Personal Print
License. Digital images are formatted in 5x7 and 8x10.

Your participation at studio rehearsals is mandatory. These rehearsals give each dancer the opportunity to accli-
mate themselves to the different elements of our show: the show order, their entrances and exits, props, any fast
costume changes, finale (bows), etc.
The finale is the last dance of the show that involves EVERY dancer. Rehearsals for this number will ALWAYS
take place in between Acts I and II.
STUDIO SHOW RUN THROUGH: This is an all day event where we run through the entire show from start to finish, we
will run the finale (bows) during what will be the intermission. This way if your dancer is in the 1st half of the
show, they won’t be required to stay until the very end. If your child dances in the 2nd act only, you won’t be
required to arrive at the beginning of our day. Dancers must arrive to the studio in dance clothes and bring with
them all the necessary shoes. NO COSTUMES ARE TO BE WORN. No make up is required.
STUDIO DRESS REHEARSAL: Now that all dancers know the finale and have practiced running the order of the show,
it’s time to add the costumes to the mix! This rehearsal is done in FULL COSTUME AND HAIR. No makeup is
required.
ARRIVE EARLY: Everyone will receive their call times for each rehearsal as we get closer to the show. We
recommend that you arrive 20 minutes prior to your call time, allowing you time to set up anything that you will
need for the day.
CHECK YOUR DANCER “IN” & “OUT”: You will need to make sure to “check in” and “check out” your dancer at each
rehearsal. This is our system to accurately keep track of your dancer and their attendance.

SHOW B: Thursday, JUne 3, 2021
THEATre tech REHEARSALS SHOW A: Friday, JUne 4, 2021
CALL TIME: 3:45pm
PARENT & DANCER MEETING: 4:00PM
tech Rehearsal: 4:30-9:00pm
Lighting, music cues, set changes and all other logistics for a successful professional performance are
rehearsed on these 2 days. We ask that you arrive to the theatre WEARING YOUR FIRST COSTUME, and
immediately go to your assigned dressing room to store all of your belongings. Your assigned dressing room is
where you will change into your other costumes if you have additional dances. Our theater tech schedule will be
released weeks prior to these rehearsals. At these particular rehearsals, we run the shows out of order so that
our youngest dancers can be released first.
CHECK IN / CHECK OUT: Parents will need to check their dancer in and out - just like you did at the studio
rehearsals. Once your dancer is done performing all of their numbers, they are free to go!
PARENT MEETING: We will hold a quick parent meeting at 4:00pm each day, giving us the opportunity to inform
you of any last minute details. Please use this time to ask us any questions you may have. It is important to us
that you feel well informed.
FINALE: We will rehearse the finale first, and then all other dances will follow.
CLOSED REHEARSALS: These tech rehearsals are “CLOSED”, which means no one is allowed to watch in the
theater. These rehearsals are strictly for the dancers. There are no parents allowed backstage during the our
shows and we do not allow parents backstage at these tech rehearsals. These are the only 2 days we practice
how these shows will actually run. During these tech rehearsals plenty of adult supervision is provided through-
out, so rest assured all dancers are supported by the teams we have in place!
SNACKS: We provide healthy snacks and water for our dancers (including vegas and gluten free options).
REMEMBER: NO EATING IN YOUR COSTUME! Make sure to wear a cover-up when eating (oversized shirt, zip
up sweatshirt, robe, etc.). Please be aware that we have dancers that are severely allergic to peanuts and
peanut butter. Do not send your dancer with snacks that contain these ingredients. It will be disposed of outside
the building immediately.
