community @Habinteg Wildflower meadows springing up in Bristol By: Lynda South, Tenant Representative Tenants and children recently planted wildflower meadow seeds in communal garden in Bristol. This area of the community garden was a bit ragged and had been landscaped following the dumping of waste materials. Using the tenant- led improvement budget our landscaper was able prepare the soil for seed planting Peter and local children sowing wildflower meadow seeds last autumn. The seeds were purchased, and empty yogurt pots were saved in readiness for the sowing of the seeds. Long serving tenant Peter put the finishing touches to the preparation by raking the area and adding some topsoil. Then during the school half term holidays, with yogurt pots in hand, we set about the task of spreading the seeds, supported by the local children. The children have been really well behaved and have kept off the area to let the seeds germinate and will hopefully see their labour of love come to fruition with a colourful array of flowers Peter and local children sowing wildflower meadow seeds soon. community In memory of Caroline Residents of Clifford Court scheme also got a new bench in memory of former tenant Caroline Brown. Caroline had been a tenant at the scheme in Ossett since July 2008, she was a very caring and polite person, always helping everyone whenever they needed it. Caroline would often sit on the bench outside, smiling and saying hello to anyone who passed by. She was a popular member amongst the Clifford Court Tenants. Sadly Caroline passed away in September 2018. She will be greatly missed by her neighbours and friends. The new bench outside the front entrance of Clifford Court was jointly funded by Habinteg and friends of Caroline. New bench in memory of Caroline Do you have a story you'd like to tell us about?
