Amen. BELLS OF TRINITY “My Lord What a Morning” THE WORD OLD TESTAMENT Genesis 9:8-17 Reader: The Old Testament Reading for the ninth Sunday after Pentecost is from the 9th chapter of Genesis. Reader: After the judgment of the Flood, God reminds Noah and his family (and us) of His enduring love by putting a rainbow in the sky. Then God said to Noah and to his sons with him: "I now establish my covenant with you and with your descendants after you and with every living creature that was with you—the birds, the livestock and all the wild animals, all those that came out of the ark with you—every living creature on earth. I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be cut off by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth." And God said, "This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. EPISTLE Ephesians 3:14-21 Reader: The Epistle is from the third chapter of Ephesians. Reader: Paul's prayer for the Ephesians, and our prayer for Trinity, is that we will all grow stronger and deeper in faith, grasping His love more and more. All glory to God! For this reason I kneel before the Father, from whom his whole family in heaven and on earth derives its name. I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the saints, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. HOLY GOSPEL Mark 6:45-56 Pastor: The Holy Gospel according to St. Mark, the sixth chapter. People: Glory to You, O Lord. Pastor: Love is the fulfillment of God's Law. Jesus fulfilled the Law by loving us and dying to take away our sins. Our response is to love God and love our neighbor. Immediately Jesus made his disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. After leaving them, he went up on a mountainside to pray. When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the lake, and he was alone on land. He saw the disciples straining at the oars, because the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night he went out to them, walking on the lake. He was about to pass by them, but when they saw him walking on the lake, they thought he was a ghost. They cried out, because they all saw him and were terrified. Immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I. Don't be afraid." Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. They were completely amazed, for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened. When they had crossed over, they landed at Gennesaret and anchored there. As soon as they got out of the boat, people recognized Jesus. They ran throughout that whole region and carried the sick on mats to wherever they heard he was. And wherever he went—into villages, towns or countryside—they placed the sick in the marketplaces. PRAYERS Pastor: Recalling the mercies that God has shown to His people in days gone by, let us boldly come before His throne of grace for ourselves and for all people in need. (Silence for prayer) Merciful Lord, You established Your Church through the blood of Your Son, endowed her with the riches of Your Word and Sacraments, led her by Your Spirit, and guaranteed the gates of hell shall not prevail against her. [Please stand] SACRAMENT The Lord's Supper is a gracious gift instituted by Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of sins and as a means of receiving God’s grace. We believe that in the holy supper, the true body and blood of the Savior, along with the bread and wine, comes to us. We are encouraged by Jesus to commune frequently and God tells us through St. Paul that we must examine ourselves in preparation for a worthy reception of the sacrament. This includes a confession of our sins, a proclamation of our faith, and a determination to lead a more godly life in the future. If you also acknowledge your sinfulness and your need for a Savior, and recognize Christ’s physical presence in the bread and wine, we invite you to join us at the Lord’s table. 12

THAT THE WORLD MAY KNOW BIBLE STUDY-Several years ago, the members of Trinity participated in a video Bible study called “That The World May Know.” It was well attended, and people commented that they learned many things that helped them to understand the Bible and its message in context. This summer, we have the opportunity to continue that study. We invite you to join us every other Wednesday, to grow stronger and deeper in our faith. We will gather in the fellowship hall for the video and discussion AT 4:00 pm, then join together for a meal at 5:00 pm. We hope you’ll join us! The Greek culture of New Testament times conflicted with the message that the Apostle Paul proclaimed to those who chose to follow Jesus. In the same way, the church today is called to proclaim the gospel in every environment, showing the world what it looks like when we give our lives to Jesus. 1. August 11 Transforming the Chaos (Corinth) LWML SUMMER LUNCHEON-All women of the congregation are invited to attend our special Summer Luncheon which will be held on Tuesday, July 27th. We will gather at the "Cheers" restaurant inside the Stonecrest Country Club across the street from the church at noon and will order from the Menu. A sign up sheet is located in the Narthex and includes a copy of the menu. We ask that you sign up by Sunday, July 25th, so that reservations can be confirmed. For reservations please call Wendy Davis at (352)-510-0112, or Arlene Stackhouse at (256)-509-1655. This is a wonderful time for us to be able to spend some fellowship time together, and hope you will plan to attend. Guests are always welcome also. There is even some light entertainment planned. When entering through the Stonecrest gate, just let the guard know that you are attending the Trinity Women's Luncheon at Cheers. The Country Club is on the main boulevard about 1/2 mile from the main gate. Parking is in front of the building. LWML will resume their regular monthly meetings in September. 19

The Community of Gratitude Emergency Food Center, located in Ocklawaha, is in need of food items which in turn will feed many impoverished families and children. THE CENTER IS IN NEED OF: canned mixed vegetables( green beans, corn, peas, etc,) spaghetti in boxes, spaghetti sauce. Volunteers will deliver them to the food center. SCHOOL SUPPLIES NEEDED-Our area's schools will be reopening in the near future and we would like to assist our Community of Gratitude families with the addition of school supplies as we continue to provide support by providing food articles for their basic food needs. This is a wonderful way to meet people while serving our Lord by welcoming them to Trinity. FOR A CHUCKLE – A teacher asked her Sunday school class to draw pictures of their favorite Bible stories. She was puzzled by Kyle’s picture, which showed four people on an airplane. She asked him which story it was meant to represent. “The Flight to Egypt,” was his reply.
