I LOVE VISCOSE market situation In the last months we have had multiple confirmation that the treated product areas continue and will continue to play an important role in the life of every day more than in the fashion system, because they are part of the everyday life of each of us. In the following pages you may find some of those examples that we have to keep in mind in order to understand where we should focus our work. Actually functionality and comfort wins over glamor / superfluous even if each of these themes reveals a simple but current aesthetic taste. Contents are getting more and more important and Viscose can be an important player in this game. Now and in the next times to come, the most important words that we have to take care of in every fields/markets are: _Sustainability/Environment _Transparency Under this light the I LOVE VISCOSE project can lead an important role enhancing in every possible way all the natural/Sustainable features. Zara has a special product area called “Join life” where they mainly use Tencel and Modal to produce the collection: https://www.zara.com/es/en/sustainability-l1449.html?v1=967743 Here below some abstracts: _More sustainable raw material Choosing raw materials helps us to reduce our environmental impact and protect biodiversity. _Tencel ® Lyocell This fiber comes from wood that has been obtained from sustainably managed forests, where trees are farmed in a controlled way using programmes that guarantee reforestation. The manufacturing process of this fiber uses a closed circuit allowing 100% of the water and 95% of the chemicals to be reused. The production processes of recycled fabrics and fibres use less water and energy, fewer natu- ral resources and produce less waste, meaning they have a lower environmental impact. When recycled fabrics can have the same quality as a new fabric, we call this “upcycling” _REFIBRA™ Lyocell REFIBRA™ Lyocell is a fibre made from recycled cotton and wood sourced from sustai- nably-grown forests. We work with the company Lenzing to develop this new material: We have created a circular system that allows us to hand over our textile scraps, which they turn into new fibre. REFIBRA™ Lyocell converts the scraps into a resource produced using the same process as TENCEL® Lyocell, following the most stringent environmental standards while maintaining its natural and original state . Recycled polyester Recycled polyester is produced with recycled plastic bottles. Using this source, we reduce the plastic waste by giving it a new life. Conventional recycled textile In conventional recycling, textile scraps are ground up and mixed with pure fibres in order to create new fabrics. Garments made of cotton and wool can be easily recycled and we are working, in collaboration with Cáritas, the Red Cross and MIT, on development projects that will allow us to recycle more types of fabrics in the future. ATHLEISURE market situation KEEP IT CASUAL Athleisure wear is hot for 2018 here’s where to get your hands on the sporty trend Blame the post-new year fitness goals but this coming year you can expect to see a lot more women wearing casual, athletic wear in places from work to parties By Natasha Patel “HITTING the gym and changing your outfit could soon be a thing of the past. This year’s fashion trend isn’t about how well you can dress up, but more about dressing down. Athleisure combines the comfort of wearing exercise clothes with everyday settings from work to a party. The trend has slowly been creeping in over the past few months but it’s set to be huge in 2018. Celebrities from the Hadid sisters to Kendall Jenner are all embracing the casual outfits. The trend is proving casual wear isn’t just for the gym...” THE SUN - January 2018 to read the full article: https://www.thesun.co.uk/fabulous/5294335/athleisure-wear-is-hot-for-2018-heres-where-to-get- your-hands-on-the-sporty-trend/ - THE ATHLEISURE TREND ISN’T TAKING A REST BREAK The red-hot athleisure trend has led many retailers and brands to unveil their own collections in recent years, and the term has been added to the dictionary. Now there’s more evidence that it’s not losing steam. The “sport leisure” style has become the largest category in the U.S. sneaker space, beating “performance”-oriented footwear, according to a study released this week by market research firm NPD Group. In sharp contrast, while demand for sport leisure styles surged 17% last year to $9.6 billion in sales, sales of performance apparel tumbled 10% to $7.4 billion, NPD said, adding the performance category’s decline has “accelerated” the last two years. (Merriam-Webster defines athleisure as “casual clothing designed to be worn both for exercising and for general use.”) Sales of “running-inspired” sneakers jumped 39% and “casual athletic” styles rose 24%, driving 2017 growth, NPD noted. On the other hand, sales of performance-geared shoes dropped 7% while training sneaker sales slumped 15%, according to NPD. ATHLEISURE Viscose employee in the athleisure product areas Use of Viscose fibre in the Athleisure Athleisure is the life style of these times, where viscose can play an important role, because the theme is from an active - gym concept but then it is increasingly reinterpreted in the everyday reality and in the various collections of both Brands and Groups. Viscose is an element that, especially in the female part, plays an important role with the fluidity, shining and softness.. in this way reinterpreting the women’s fashion in these times has come back to use comfortable wear and fluids that no other fiber better than viscose, such as in athleisure, can blend with fibers such as Polyester and Nylon softening the sometimes over-technical blur and making the commercial products easier to approach and buy. Materials and style suggestions For Yarns Producers - Jersey and Fabrics Yarn: 100% viscose, Viscose / Polyester blend, Viscose / Nylon blend better if stretch with Lycra Viscose twisted with Polyester or Nylon For fabrics and jersey producers - _Viscose in intimate blend with synthetic fibers such as polyester and nylon even with technical characteristics given by the yarns or by the finishing, such coated or bondend _Synthetic fiber/synthetic yarn in the warp with a viscose ring or even and better corespun with lycra or spandex in the weft to have a stretch effect and therefore performance and comfort. For garment Producers - They should use fabrics and yarns we have suggested above or just use 100% viscose fabrics and jersey with technical details such as tapes or accessories that are always giving a technical/sporty look. We have to remember that at this time this is the trend that is affecting the way people dress in general, especially the young I Love Viscose project | Market research - 13 -

HOME theme description/why homewear? market situation Intro It is a product area that is becoming more and more important since homewear has changed a lot in recent years and has become a real “easywear” At home, people dress up in a simple, practical and very easy way, they can either get friends or go out for breakfas rather than the supermarket , and taking out the dog. So they have to be dressed in such a way that they can deal with this kind of situation even in a relaxed way. Most of the Brands already have their ownhomewear line. In the past this product area was very simple and for woman, the housewife and had its usefulness, its name as a category was Home Dress, below a description from Wikipedia HOUSE DRESS From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article is about the woman’s garment. For the papal or religious garments called “house dress”, see Papal regalia and insignia § Ordinary dress. A housewife in 1941 wearing a printed cotton house dress. A house dress is a type of simple dress worn informally in the mornings at home for household chores or for quick errands. The term originated in the late nineteenth century to describe at-home garments designed for maximum practicality and usually made from washable fabrics. It is directly descended from the Mother Hubbard dress. Such dresses were a necessary part of the housewife’s wardrobe in the early twentieth century and could be widely purchased throu- gh mail-order catalogues. Nelly Don house dress, May 1922 Although an informal garment, the house dress, particularly during the 1950s, was intended to be stylish and feminine as well as serviceable. The concept of attractive house dresses was popularised in the late 1910s by Nell Donnelly Reed, whose “Nelly Don” housedresses (manufactured by The Donnelly Garment Company) established that house dresses could be both attractive and practical. The company, renamed Nelly Don after Reed’s retirement, quickly became one of the most successful American clothing manufacturers of the 20th century. Some designers became known for house dress designs, such as Claire McCardell, whose 1942 ‘popover’ wrap dress was equally wearable as a house dress, a dressing-gown, a beach cover-up or even a party dress. The house dress version of McCardell’s popover came with a matching oven glove. I Love Viscose project | Market research - 16 -

HOME theme description/why home? market situation THE LUXURY LOUNGEWEAR WE WANT THIS WINTER As the nights get longer, it’s time to invest in luxury loungewear sure to make evenings on the sofa a little more fabulous. Sometimes, the only thing better than getting dressed up to go out is getting dressed up to stay in – and the recent surge in luxury loungewear means that you can now accumulate a wardrobe of comfortable basics to rival any rail of party dresses. From Olivia von Halle’s cashmere track- suits, to the fluffy fur slippers of Zizi Donohue, there is plenty to be said for wearing something fabulous while watching the telly – even if only for the fact that, according to Lisa Aiken, fashion retail director at Net-A-Porter, “these fabrics aren’t always practical for your daily staples, so cosying up at home is the perfect moment to embrace them.” Plus, most importantly, she conti- nues to explain that “luxury isn’t just about a fabulous dress in the evening or a beautifully tailo- red jacket; loungewear should make you feel great, especially as ‘down-time’ is becoming increa- singly sacred.” So, while street style galleries might be rife with silken separates and pyjama suiting, there is much to be said for saving one’s best pieces for the living (or bed) room; as Sarah Shotton, cre- ative director of Agent Provocateur says, “it instantly makes you feel glamorous and sexy, like a super star, even if you are at home on your own (but if you are wearing an Agent Provocateur slip, whoever is in the bed with you is in for a treat).” In 2017, wellness appears to be the world’s most covetable commodity – and such a sentiment is now being translated into cashmere track- suits from The Row and Salvatore Ferragamo Chinoiserie hotel slippers. Wearing such pieces in private, simply to sit on the sofa, is surely a justifiable extension of self care – just the most luxurious version imaginable. “We all have an idea of our perfect self,” says designer Olivia Von Halle (who is certainly the fore- most pioneer in the category), “the version who opens the door looking gorgeous in a slip dress with an embellished dressing gown worn loose over the top, or who comes down to breakfast at a friend’s fabulous house looking chic in a pair of monogrammed silk pyjamas.” That’s the other side of the coin, isn’t it: the idea that, through accumulating a wardrobe of loungewear, you can channel the effortless insouciance of those sorts of women – or, at least, really impress your Deli- veroo driver. So, whatever your motivation for wearing it, here we present the Vogue edit of the most louche loungewear around – something to brighten up the long evenings ahead. HOME Viscose employee in the homewear product areas Use of Viscose fibre in the homewear The materials of this Theme are soft and fluid and the most important fiber is cotton, but viscose with its fluidity, gloss and softness serves to make more contemporary both the materials and consequently the finished products and finds its greatest application in the women’s collections. A topic that is now very contemporary even in all day fashion is the “room dressing” and many Brands have used very fluffy silk fabrics for the top of the market and with the viscose for the market made by large groups, the fabrics are usually jaquards and prints inspiration the 40s, when in the house people dressed in the “room dressing”. in the department stores of Paris “Bonne Marchè” were made selections of brands specialized in this type of clothing for women’s daily dress. Materials and style suggestions For yarns Producers - Yarn should be Cotton/Viscose or 100% viscose (also with some Lycra) Wool/Cotton/Viscose (also with some Lycra) we can also have some a high twisted Viscose ring with cotton or Viscose/Cotton Blend high twisted yarns (always better with Lycra) For fabrics and jersey producers - _The fabrics and Jersey will be made with the above mentioned yarns or 100% cotton yarn in the warp and viscose spun in the weft or viceversa. _Viscose spun for the weft and Viscose filament in the warp _Viscose/Cotton high twisted for both warp & weft _ Similarly jersey or flat knit are made with yarns mentioned above _ NB: The Jersey and the Pile are the most used materials For garment producers - The Should use Fabrics , Jersey and Yarns we have suggested above Thee style of this theme is easy but elegant and it could be quite sophisticate and lends itself to being used not only in the home. It is worth mentioning that at this moment there is a trend “house coat” elegant, sophisticated, printed or jacquard with dandysh look, which is mainly used during the day but also in the evening. CITY theme description/why city? market situation Intro From the ‘80s the formal fashion changed, became more easy, more glamorous, it was identified in the fasion. and soft and fluid lines entered the everyday life’s clothing. Still today we can say that today’s cloths are the sons of the intuitions Armani had in the 80’s, the fluidity and comfort of the materials has not changed but evolved in that direction .. We can say that in the 80s the Viscose appeared in that part of the clothing where it was not present and from that time on never abandoned . two iconic films of that time mark the change of lifestyle and not just of fashion which take from that moments to a direction of comfort and glamor: _American Gigolò where the dresses were designed by Giorgio Armani where the garments of Richard Geere were elegant and confortable as a second skin, completely different from the standard of these times .. _Working Girl where the clothes were inspired still by the Armani Women’s Collections that re-invented the wardrobe of the woman in career Famous are the dresses of the 1988 Working Girl film where the elegance of Melanie Griffith’s suits found their best on the fluidity and comfort of that fabrics, and many of those fabrics were made with Viscose fibre. Today the City or Urban style has become much easier in all directions and the power suit part has changed a lot, even if it remain specially in the high segment of the market with very luxury materials on the other hand we can find jackets and suits with the easiest details more glamorous and casual and therefore the category has less defined and wider outlines I Love Viscose project | Market research - 24 -
CITY theme description/why city? market situation Staying chic in or out of the office has never been so easy Something young professionals and financial types have spent years trying to escape, the power suit has returned to the fashion fold. As the autumn/winter collections ensued, it became clear that designers were ready to embrace the stuffy shoulder pads and clean-cut boardroom blazers of yesteryear, albeit with a high-fashion twist. Proof that there’s so much more to the conservative two-piece than the parody of a 1980s executive woman, double-breasted blazers and a pair of crisp, tailored trousers is an ensemble that commands attention. Now, they’re neat, androgynous and statement-making. Perhaps the most striking of the bunch came, unsurprisingly, from Celine where suits were kept straightforward, boxy, mannish and seriously edgy. Here, tuxedo tailoring was paired with slim trousers while stark-white shirt collars came oversized and unyielding. What we learned from London Fashion Week Elsewhere, a woman that spent her early career as part of an all-star girl band continued her pur- suit for female empowerment with a refined collection of suits. Victoria Beckham zoned in on the idea of femininity and strength with soft, oversized blazers, baggy trousers and organza shirts in shades of oxblood, navy and grey. It was at Dries Van Noten though, where perhaps the most intriguing two-pieces came to fruition. Here, tired of dressing 16-year-old girls, the brand crossed traditional masculine and feminine elements using models from the old guard. Taking to the runway, models who walked in his first Paris show, in 1992, wore well-cut trousers, tailored jackets, and louche and oversized shoulders in a mix of patterns and metal-spun fabrics. A piece that every woman should own, finding the right one for you isn’t always simple but for longevity and ultimate style points, you’d do well to stay away from cheap fabrics and poor fits. Whether you wear yours with a shirt and classic courts or a simple tee and tennis shoes, there’s no doubt that the right trouser suit guarantees to make you both look and feel like the business.
