As one key shopping period ends and another nears, our weekly column dives into some of the
promotional offers and news on WeChat Official Accounts in China and South Korea. Look out next
week for our special feature on how Black Friday (26 November) has been brought to life by travel

China
China Duty Free Group (CDFG)
CDFG is partnering with Estée Lauder this week to offer a very generous lucky draw (First Prize x 1; Second
Prize x 2; Third Prize x 4).

The first prize winner can enjoy gift vouchers offering a night’s stay at a garden view deluxe room and
afternoon tea for two at Renaissance Sanya Haitang Bay Resort, and take home one of Estée Lauder’s
bestsellers, the Advanced Night Repair serum (100mlx2).

Second prize winners enjoy the same afternoon tea voucher and bestseller product set, and third prize winners
will be gifted Advanced Night Repair serum (100mlx1) and eye cream (15mlx1).

Winners will be announced during the 7:30-9:30pm livestreaming hosted by Estée Lauder and CDF Sanya, CDF
Hainan, and Sunrise Duty Free on 27 November. To be eligible for the lucky draw, customers must purchase
more than RMB2,000 worth of Estée Lauder products in one order via select channels (CDF Hainan Duty Free
mini-program, CDF Member Shop Beijing mini-program, Sunrise Duty Free member’s app, and CDF x Sunrise
Duty Free traveller’s purchase app & mini-program).

Another highlight among CDFG’s extensive series of events was the launch of the Bowmore Designed by Aston
Martin Collection during the special livestreaming at 7:30pm on 25 November. The livestreaming presented
Bowmore’s 10 Year Old, 15 Year Old and 18 Year Old limited-edition collaborations with the famous British
car manufacturer. Two drinks connoisseurs and the chief sales advisor from Aston Martin joined the
livestreaming as host and guests. Exclusive gifts were on offer to customers purchasing any limited edition at
this livestreaming.

The Bowmore Designed by Aston Martin Collection was not the only exclusive, first to launch offer from
CDFG. Serpenti True Colours sunglasses from Bulgari and the Bally Hike Capsule Collection are also available
at the Sanya International Duty Free Shopping Complex in Haitang Bay.

Sunrise Duty Free
Sunrise Duty Free Beijing celebrated the 1st anniversary of its livestreaming studio last Friday, offering lucky
draws, interactive games, and special promotions starting from 7pm. It also marked the first time for Sunrise
Duty Free to livestream its promotions on Weibo. In addition, followers of Sunrise Duty Free Beijing on
Xiaohongshu also enjoyed exclusive benefits.

Customers can enter a lucky draw by commenting ‘Happy Birthday’ in the promotion chat group, join the hosts
in searching for flagship products across different countries to win an anniversary gift bag, and win regular-size
items in the interactive games.

Customers can also register for a chance to connect with the livestreaming studio and win a gift package worth
CNY6,888 (US$1,078) or travel size gift sets.

Estée Lauder, Fresh, Clinique, and Guerlain are also featured in this

week’s WeChat OA. EstéeLauder is partnering with several CDF operations and subsidiary Sunrise Duty Free
on a very generous lucky draw (see the CDFG story below). The promotion for LVMH skincare brand Fresh
remains the same as previous weeks with a focus on exclusive gift boxes. The Clinique promotion is focused on
anti-aging and whitening products and comes with a lucky draw for related samples. As for Guerlain, the
Orchidée Impériale products are strongly recommended.

Sunrise Duty Free Shanghai is running its first round of Thanksgiving & Christmas promotions this week.
Customers can join either of two livestreaming promotions and prepare gifts for their loved ones. Offers include

Tom Ford sunglasses, Emporio Armani watches, Swarovski necklaces, and Jo Malone perfume.

Select skincare, makeup, liquor, and fashion items at special prices are also available, namely skincare set from
Estée Lauder, eyeshadow palette from M.A.C., whisky from Johnnie Walker, and handbags from Furla and
Coach. Other brands featured in Sunrise Duty Free Shanghai this week include Estée Lauder, Shiseido, Fresh,
Filorga, and Vedi Vero.

HTDF

HTDF has extended its Single’s Day promotion of ‘buy 3 get -30% off’ and is sharing the list of most-loved
super deals over the past few weeks.

Top three consumer favourites are the Treatment Toner from La Mer, the Revitalizing Supreme+ soft cream
from Estee Lauder, and the Correcting Cream from Clé de Peau Beauté.

HTDF also shares the list of bestsellers among different brands including the Ultra Facial Cream from Kiehl’s,
the Absolute eye cream from Lancôme, and the softening cleansing foam from Clé de Peau Beauté.

In addition, HTDF is also promoting new brands recently launched offline or online, including Editions de
Parfums Frederic Malle, Urban Decay and Fitchan, as well as special offers from existing brands such as
haircare label Kérastase (free gifts + free styling).

The special deal offered in partnership with various banks also continues. China Ever Bright Bank credit card
holders can enjoy CNY150 (US$23.50) off per CNY2,000 (US$313) spend. American Express card holders
(RMB card) can earn an HTDF coupon worth CNY370 (US$58) per CNY3,000 (US$470) spend via POS
machine. Alipay users can still enter the lucky draw before 5 January for an opportunity to shop up to
CNY10,000 (US$1,565) for free.

CNSC
Lovely imagery on show from CNSC’s WeChat OA for its CNSC Sanya International Duty Free Plaza in
Hainan, which features an extensive Japanese sake promotion this week.

DFS
DFS announces three new promotions on its WeChat this week: Masters of Time, a YSL pop-up store in Macau,
and a seasonal sale offering up to -50% off.
The prize for the ‘People’s Choice’ Award at this year’s Masters of Time is increased from MOP1,000
(US$125) to MOP5,000 (US$630), with voting ending at noon on 30 November. This week on WeChat, DFS
presents quotes from expert judges, and invites all customers to join the event in person at T Galleria by DFS,
Shoppes at Four Seasons, Macau. The masterpiece collection will be on display and for sale until 6 February
2022, the last day of the Chinese New Year vacation for mainland tourists.

The beauty record pop-up store staged by DFS and YSL runs from 1 November to 31 December at City of
Dreams, Macau, and online livestreaming was held yesterday (25 November) at 7:00-8:30pm. The
livestreaming was joined by 4 KOLs and included a virtual tour of the pop-up store. Customers could enjoy
extra sample sets including perfumes, mini-size lipsticks, and a makeup bag when purchasing via the
livestreaming channel, and join rounds of Q&A to enter the lucky draw for a prize as high as MOP8,775.

DFS also offers a lucky draw prize of a YSL Slim Velvet Radical Matte Lipstick to all WeChat followers who
share their story with YSL Beauté in the comments section.
The DFS season sale (up to -50% off) began on 19 November across 11 stores (including T Galleria) in Macau,
Hong Kong, Haikou Mission Hills (Times DF x DFS), Okinawa, Sydney, Abu Dhabi, Auckland and Singapore.

T Galleria in Hong Kong and Macau have the widest variety of brands on sale, including Balmain, Jimmy Choo,
Versace, Stuart Weitzman, Longchamp, Moschino and By Far. Times DF x DFS at Haikou Mission Hills is
running a season sale on ten brands, including Michael Kors, Bally, Coach, Ferragamo, and Calvin Klein.
Times DF Mission Hills

Times DF Mission Hills is promoting the Pernod Ricard portfolio boutique this week by offering a virtual tour
on its WeChat OA. The video features an introduction to the whisky and Cognac section and introduces the
most sought-after product, ultra-premium Cognac L’Or de Jean Martell.

The AI-embedded smart interactive screen in the boutique allows customers to fully explore the Pernod Ricard
collection, and recommends products based on customer preference input. Cocktails made with Pernod Ricard
products are also offered at the bar counter in the centre of the boutique.

Another highlight of the week is the opening of CDG Play and the introduction of the first duty free store in
Hainan from Prince Jewellery & Watch, a retailer of prestigious timepiece accessories. New Era, Pinko, and
Save the Duck are also opening soon at Times DF Mission hills.
GDF Plaza
GDF Plaza in Haikou announces the opening of a By Kilian duty free, featuring three of its classic perfumes:
Good Girl Gone Bad, Angel’s Share, and Rose on Ice. Followers on WeChat can share their favourite By Kilian
perfume in the comments section to enter a lucky draw for an exclusive gift.
The thanksgiving theme livestreaming this week at 7:30pm on 24 November featured a wide selection of liquor,
perfume, makeup, and haircare products on super deals. The promotions included spirits and wines from
Martell, Moët & Chandon and Calvet, perfume from By Kilian and Penhaligon’s, diffusers from Rituals, lipstick
from Lancôme, and a Chronologiste hair care set from Kérastase.
A duty free-exclusive super deal from Shiseido is another key promotion of the week. GDF has just launched
the Shiseido Ultimune serum in 120ml & 100ml sizes as well as duty free-exclusive skincare sets. Similarly,
followers on WeChat can share their favourite Shiseido product in the comments section to enter a lucky draw
for the Ultimune serum (100ml).
GDF is also introducing a number of new brands on 30 November to mark the start of the year-end festive
season. The retailer has already introduced prestigious brands including Christian Louboutin, Hérmes, Haus of
Dietrich, Penhaligon’s, Rituals and Urban Decay, while new brands including Samsonite, The Glen Grant single
malt whisky, Hardys wines, and Lego will arrive soon.
South Korea

Lotte Duty Free
In addition to the ongoing season sale & special promotions that have been running since 1 November, Lotte
Duty Free is offering something new this week including extra loyal points for Alipay Quick Pay users and
members who check-in daily on the official site.
Customers can receive extra samples (any spend) or travel sets (US$100 spend) when purchasing Filorga
products; a cute hair band per Cake My Day ‘ice-cream’ face mask purchased; and enjoy buy 3 get 1 free on
Kaja macaron eyeshadow. For skincare this week, Lotte Duty Free focuses on winter eyecare, and recommends
products across various pricepoints — from Vichy and Biotherm to Lancôme and La Mer.
