Laura Moskow Sigal | lmsigal@tiferethisrael.org Executive Director • Wear light clothing because the air conditioner doesn’t always work in my office • Plan on talking to a lot of members the day our statements are sent • Our rabbis work 24/7 • Keep my sense of humor • Don’t assume anything • Return calls to members within 24 hours or risk a very full voice mailbox • Vendors will call a lot • TI staff work very hard • Meetings always go longer than anticipated • Long-range planning is tough to do during a pandemic • Building a culture of philanthropy will take time • Everyone has an opinion, or two, or three • Have patience • Collaboration is my best friend • My social work degree comes in handy • Learning curves can be steep • Snarky-ness can be helpful • Welcome feedback, opinions, and beliefs that may not match my own • Celebrate successes • Embrace tough conversations • Old buildings break down a lot, and they cost a lot to fix • And, most of all, I’m loving it!
