RAJOURI- THANAMANDI ROAD---AFTER 30-40 YEARS
A dream project of District Rajouri-Rajouri Thannamandi Road,
kick Started by Deputy Commissioner Rajouri on 11.4.2021. The same work
was stuck for years together and then despite of its sanctioning, remained hanging
for almost 2 years.
After a series of
efforts, the local
issues have almost
been resolved. The
bottlenecks coming in the way of Construction agencies and the BRO
stands also addressed. Total Cost of the project is more than Rs. 400
Crores including Land Acquisition.
FUNCTIONING OF DISTRICT DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL
Taking a Lead, the offices of the District Development Council have
been made functional.

Deputy Commissioner.

10 No. of ongoing Roads under PMGSY stands fully completed with 45
Kms of BT work, benefitting around 15000-20000 Population. As per the
directions of Deputy Commissioner, PMGSY has put CIB on each road to
aware the general Public about the Cost incurred and details of Contractor
responsible for Maintenance of Roads/bridges.MASON TRAINING PROGRAMME
Inauguration of Steps & Railing at MC Kalakote
Hostel block for Gujjar &
Bakerwal Students at Nagrota stands completed except furniture with an
estimated cost of Rs.338.00 lacs and against which an expenditure of Rs.310.00 lacs
stands incurred for completion of the block. The pace of the work of the Hostel
was very slow and got expedited in last couple of months.

FILLING OF POTH HOLES
As an initiative, to at least fill the Poth holes, the District Dev.
Commissioner got almost all the roads of PWD /PMGSY and BRO repaired,
at low-cost basis, within given resources, reposing faith of the general Public
in administration.

FIELD TOURS-Taking Administration at Door Steps of Public.
Field Tours by the Deputy Commissioner along with members of
BDC/DDC in the remote areas of the District. Inspection of developmental
projects and expediting the pace of Works thereof.RESUMPTION OF WORK ON ANS IRRIGATION CANAL
The work was held up for the last 2-3 Years and now
resumed after the visit of Deputy Commissioner, Rajouri. The canal
will cater 14 revenue villages and shall irrigate 2000 hectares of
land, benefitting more than 9000 Population.
Start of Held Up Works:
The District Administration in less than 3 months period got almost 15
roads cleared which were held up for years together, say 10 years, 15 years
and even 22 years. The disputes were pertaining to title or alignment.
However, all roads have been thrown open and work is going on.

DOUBLE SHIFT WORKING FOR COMPLETION OF DEVELOPMENTAL WORKS-
To Compensate the previous backlog work, which remained held up due to
COVID-19, work on roads is being executed in night Shifts for early completion.

(JK12703)EVICTION OF GOVT. BUILDINGS District Administration launched massive campaign in 3 months to vacate Govt. buildings like Panchayat Ghars, School Buildings, Health Institutions, Bank Buildings, Office buildings, Buildings owned by Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, ICDS from un authorized occupants. Some of the buildings were under un-authorised possession from 10-15 years and some even from 20 years. In this campaign around 80 such buildings, have been got vacated so far. .
RETRIEVAL OF ENCROACHED
LANDS.
The District has achieved visible
progress in less than 3 Months in removal of
encroachments and Foot paths, Common
grazing lands and Govt. Departmental Lands.
So far atleast 550 Kanals of Encroached
State Land and around 3000 Kanals of
Departmental Land stand retrieved in last
couple of months.
2880 Kanal encroached land belonging to Animal and Sheep
Husbandry Department situated at Lam area of Nowshera- was retrieved as first
step towards the land protection, in presence of Deputy Commissioner himself.
All Tehsildars have been asked to get the Govt. Land retrieved, wherever
it is encroached, to handover the same to the Concerned Departments.

youth no. of Sports Events are being

District.LOK MITARS- EYES AND EARS OF ADMINISTRATION-
An initiative of District Administration Rajouri
The District
Administration has
launched a unique initiative
to connect general Public in
each Revenue Village with
the District Administration
through selected and
dedicated 5-6 local Govt.
Employees like Patwari,
VLW, Agriculture Extension
Asstt., ASHA Workers,
AWWs, VLEs etc.
Such Lok Mitars
have been assigned a
specific Revenue Village to remain available for help and Guidance of public
in their respective villages. The Public can get their Complaints /grievances
noted through them and the Lok Mitars are also entrusted with the job of
creating awareness regarding all Govt. Schemes in their respective Villages
and to help the general Public for availing such Schemes.
In the District, around 1800 Nos of officials have been deployed in
386 Groups of Lok Mitars.
A Mega event organised at the district headquarter, where Directory
containing all Contact Nos. of District Officers and Lok Mitars was released and
copy of the same was provided to all BDC Chairpersons/DDC Members/ Members
of PRIs and Lok Mitars, besides imparting awareness.

➢ Around more than 2500 Officials/Members of
PRIs etc witnessed the programme.DECISION FOR MAKING RAJOURI AS A WHITE CITY -
(A Step towards Cleanliness….)
The District Administration has also
initiated in the Last three Months, the Project of
making Rajouri as a White City. The Public has
shown overwhelming response and
enthusiasm. In First phase, all commercial
Markets in the District have been taken up.
During Conduct of extensive tour in
the Rajouri City, various decisions were taken
and being implemented. People showed lot of
faith and responded well in making the Changes in their respective areas.
As a part of Swachh Bharat
Mission, Concerned Officers have been
directed to remove all illegal hoarding
/Banners. All Lanes and drains are being
cleaned. Even use, Storage Transpiration
and Polythene has been banned.

First time such step has been taken to ensure the better hygiene and
Cleanliness in the surroundings.

As a unique initiative, the District Development Commissioner
ensured the conduct of Integrated Awareness Camps and not the Conduct of
Camps in isolation.
Various Departments were asked to put the Joint camps and to pool their
resources, so that maximum benefits could be percolated among the Public.

11th National Voter Day (NVD) Celebrations all over the District.INTERNATIONAL WOMEN DAY-2021
For the First time, Women Day was celebrated all over the District at all Block
Headquarters.
The District has prioritised women
Empowerment and created a Special Cell in the
Deputy Commissioner’s Office for the
mobilization of Women folk for their
participation, pertaining to Development and
Water Conservation in their respective areas.
Release of book “Mehv-e-Hairat” on
International women Day 8th of March, 2021 at
Himalayan Super School, Dhangri was a part
of event.

Deputy Commissioner Rajouri Sh. Rajesh Kumar Shavan, KAS and

attended the Programme. DDC Chairman Sh. Naseem Liaqat, DDC Vice
Chairman Sh. Shabir Ahmed Khan, President MC Rajouri Mr. Mohd Arif, and
other DDC Members remained present as Special Invitees, during the live
Telecast of Hon’ble Prime Minister of India’s address.

A Team of 13 Women Officers/Officials stands constituted under the
supervision of Chief Accounts Officer, DRDA Mrs. Shabana Azmin, KAS and
Dr. Anum Mirza Women Welfare Officer, being the coordinator reports and
follow up on daily basis regarding water bodies/Sources, being explored by
involving Women Folk, to get the water for Water Stressed Habitations.

Fitness Tests were conducted, to ensure
fitness of vehicles and restrict the chances of
breakdown of vehicles, thus further reducing

Promotion of Culture and Tourism-
Efforts are being made in the last 3
Months to promote the Culture and
Tourism of the area. The First Step was
holding of Mega Awareness Mela and
identification of new Tourist spot at Bali
(kothian) Kalakote.

Sunderbani & Filtration plant with the capacity of 45000 gallons per day at
Nowshera in Nowshera & Sunderbani Sub-Divisions were given on spot.

The District has also decided to introduce new varieties of Seeds of
paddy from Badherwah & other best areas of UT. It was also decided to
conduct the Saffron Cultivation in villages.
The District has also started work on Construction/Repair/De-silting
of Irrigation Khuls in the District for better irrigation of Agriculture land. 161
khuls/D-Channels stands completed and rest shall be taken up in the current
financial year 2021-22.

CUM TRAINING:
The group of farmers visited Chaudhary
Sarwan Kumar, Himachal Pradesh Krishi
Vishav Vidyalaya, Palampur to get
acquainted with the latest technologies in
the field of Agriculture like organic
farming and Mushroom Cultivation, so
that they may learn new techniques and
District may excel in Agriculture
Activities.

Strawberry
Planation is
being done in
2021-22.
Established New Citrus Mother Block at Siot
Nursery Rajouri. 80000 Plants shall be planted
in 2021-22.
30000 Nos of
Apricot plants
being produced
at Rajouri.ULTRA HIGH DENSITY APPLES Planted by
DC Rajouri along with Director Horticulture
at Thanamandi. Around 100000 plants are
being planted on 20-25 hectares. Besides, this
25000 high Density Mango Plants are also
being planted in the District.
Awareness
Melas
Focus on Saffron
Cultivation exclusively is also being laid.
ORGANIC FARMING is being promoted. Around 200 Nos of Vermi Compost
Unit shall be taken up in 2021-21 at first instance.
MEDICINAL CULTIVATION.
Some Villages have been adopted for encouraging
the Cultivation of Garlic, Chilly and Turmeric.
Hathal and Patrara have been identified for
cultivation of Turmeric at first instance.
AGRICULTURE TRIALS have been started for
exclusive Vegetables Cultivation. Intensive
Vegetable Development Programme under NAFAD is
being started. 1000 Kanals of land shall be covered
under Intensive
Vegetable development
Programme.
Farm Mechanisation is
being promoted, by
providing different
Agriculture Machinery to the farming
Community on Subsidized rates, like Tractors
/Chaff Cutters/Multi Crop Thrashers etc.

System (RSIS) App” launched
for monitoring of all the Government

Appointment Scheduler App has been indigenously developed by the
National Informatic Centre Rajouri, to facilitate the visitors in the Deputy
Commissioner’s office as it would help them to book their appointment with the
DC through online mode and which will mitigate their sufferings to a great extent
as the people used to visit the DC Office frequently.
The Apps have been launched by the District Administration as a part of Good
Governance and such initiatives are being taken in future to ensure transparency
& accountability on the part of all Govt. Functionaries.ESTABLISHMENT OF PUBLIC GRIEVANCES REDRESSAL CELL with dedicated Helpline Number -01962-264544 in Deputy Commissioner Office Rajouri, with the objective to respond promptly to all the issues of general Public. 24*7 Services are available for general Public, to register their Grievances and further redressal by the concerned officers.
