Surveillance Report As of February 14th : • Worldwide: • Over 410.5 million COVID-19 cases and over 5.8 million deaths have been reported • Over 10.2 billion vaccine doses administered worldwide • In Ontario: • 1,076,078 cases of this illness confirmed, including 12,120 deaths • Locally: Data source: Ontario Ministry of Health (Ministry) Public Health Case and Contact Management Solution (CCM), extracted 2022-02-15. Ontario reopening plan February 17 • Increasing social gathering limits to 50 people indoors and 100 people outdoors • Increasing organized public event limits to 50 people indoors, with no limit outdoors • Removing capacity limits in the following indoor public settings where proof of vaccination is required, including but not limited to: • Restaurants, bars and other food or drink establishments without dance facilities • Non-spectator areas of sports and recreational fitness facilities, including gyms • Cinemas • Meeting and event spaces, including conference centres or convention centres • Casinos, bingo halls and other gaming establishments • Indoor areas of settings that choose to opt-in to proof of vaccination requirements.
Ontario reopening plan February 17 • Allowing 50% of the usual seating capacity at sports arenas, concerts, and theatres • Increasing indoor capacity limits to 25% in the remaining higher-risk settings where proof of vaccination is required, including nightclubs, restaurants where there is dancing, as well as bathhouses and sex clubs • Increasing capacity limits for indoor weddings, funerals or religious services, rites, or ceremonies to the number of people who can maintain two metres physical distance • Capacity limits in other indoor public settings, such as grocery stores, pharmacies, retail and shopping malls, will be maintained at, or increased to, the number of people who can maintain two metres physical distance
Ontario reopening plan March 1 • If indicators continue to improve: o Lifting capacity limits in all remaining indoor public settings o Lift proof of vaccination requirements for all settings o Masking will remain in place o Local public health units can deploy local and regional responses
Resumption of surgeries and procedures • Directive #2 revoked, indicating a gradual resumption of non-urgent and non-emergent surgeries and procedures • Continuing steady declines being seen in COVID-19-related hospitalizations and ICU admissions • Many organizations being able to meet the demand from a staffing point of view • Operational guidance from Ontario Health will enable re-start of non- emergent and non-urgent surgeries in public hospitals
Access to free rapid testing kits • Province is making 44 million free rapid tests available to the public over the next two months • Ontario will be distributing 5 million rapid tests each week for the next eight weeks through pharmacy and grocery store locations across the province • Additionally, 500,000 per week through community partners working with vulnerable communities • Distribution will be limited to one box of five tests per household, per visit.

Booster doses for 12-17 year olds • Adolescents with an underlying medical condition currently eligible for a 3rd dose 3 months after their second dose • Eligibility is expanding to all youth aged 12-17 starting on Friday, February 18th • Doses are to be booked 6 months (168 days) after a second dose • Individuals must be 12 years old at the time of their appointment
Pfizer and Moderna vaccines available at all clinics • Pfizer-BioNTech Comirnaty and Moderna Spikevax vaccines available at all MLHU mass vaccination clinics • Anyone who visits a mass vaccination clinic will be able to receive the mRNA vaccine of their choice. • The Pfizer Cormirnaty vaccine will be available at all pop-up vaccination clinics hosted by the Middlesex-London Paramedic Service or at any of the MLHU’s Community Hub COVID-19 Vaccination Clinic in Schools
COVID-19 Mass Vaccination Clinics • Walk-ins welcome at all MLHU mass vaccination clinic locations. Walk-in up to 1 hour before close. • Agriplex is moving to Wednesday to Sunday operations starting March 2nd, with hours staying the same.
COVID-19 Vaccine Mobile & Pop-up Clinics • Continue to work on a targeted approach to make the vaccine available in communities with lower uptake. • Community HUB COVID-19 Vaccination Clinics in Schools: second mobile team added, starting next week. There will be 20 clinics supported by mobile teams in the next two weeks. • Walk-in, no appointment or health card required at any of the school-based clinics. • For a complete list of locations and times, visit MLHU’s website: www.healthunit.com/pop-up-vaccination-clinics.
Other Vaccination Efforts • Homebound third doses program began on February 10th • Superhero Family Day at the Agriplex and Earl Nichols happening February 21st
