The complete school ski experience for developing young people... MEET OUR EQUITY AMBASSADOR: CHEMMY ALCOTT Inspirational athlete, Chemmy Alcott, is Equity’s ambassador for ski and sport. We are very proud to be working with Chemmy whose passion for ski started when she was a toddler, she then went on to compete at the age of 8 and worked her way up to be ranked 8th in the world. Chemmy is Britain’s number one female alpine skier being the first woman to qualify for the World Cup Finals, the first British skier to win a run in a World Cup race and the first British skier to win the British Land National Ski Championships six times in a row. Working with Equity Ski, Chemmy will be helping young people learn skills of perseverance and determination through ski and sport. Chemmy believes, “Sport teaches us so much. It teaches us leadership skills, to work as a team, to listen to advice, but most of all it teaches us how to pick ourselves up when we get knocked down – essentially how to overcome loss which is a huge part of life. And no more sport than skiing – when you learn to ski you are always challenging yourself.“ These values are what we at Equity find most important for groups organising their trip to the slopes. It is so much more than a trip away; a ski trip is a life-changing experience that allows students to bond with their peers, get to know their teachers better and learn life skills.

Don’t take our word for it, here’s what some of our Party Leaders have said about their ski trips... " Throughout the week, students took responsibility for themselves, showed respect and built positive relationships. They showed they could work with others, meet deadlines and expectations as well as use their initiative when asked, for example, to sort each room to ensure the door was locked and the key placed at reception. Through the skiing, they recognised the benefits of a healthy and active life and for beginners; they displayed fortitude and resilience in tackling a sport that is physically demanding and mentally challenging. Our senior pupils had opportunities to be a role model for the junior pupils and through their own assessment; they were able to recognise theirs and other strengths. All in all, this was the best ski trip I have been on and all pupils have learnt so much about themselves and others. Patricia Morton, Kirkudbright Academy " Travelled with Equity to the Club Les Rois Mages in Montgenèvre, France " Kingsdale Foundation School's Team Andorra 2017 deserve to be congratulated for their relentless commitment throughout the 5 days " The students found the slopes fun and challenging, with plenty of laughter and falls along the way.
