What does your emergency plan look like? Now is the time to get prepared for an emergency and make sure your emergency plan is up to date. It’s important to share and rehearse your emergency plan with everyone involved. The Red Cross Rediplan is a free template that is available online and can be stored and shared electronically with your family, friends and neighbours. It doesn’t matter if you rent or own your property, it’s important to know your risks, be prepared and have an emergency plan in place. Remember, leaving early is always the safest option. When creating your plan, think about when and where you would go and make sure your emergency kit has enough essential items to last you at least 72 hours. Think about where you might be in an emergency — you could be at work or out of the area when an emergency occurs, so be prepared.
