Page 10 The Church of Holy Apostles, McHenry, IL NPH USA is a nonprofit organization which helps abandoned, orphaned and at-risk children in Latin American and the Caribbean. NPH USA was founded in 1954 in Cuernavaca, Mexico by Father William B. Wasson. Since then NPH has grown to transform the lives of children in nine countries (Bolivia, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Mexi- co, Nicaragua, and Peru). To date, we are assisting 6,200 children in our homes and in the surrounding communities of our homes. We provide them with a safe home, food, clothing, health care, and education through University. Read Felicitas’ story... All that Felicitas remembers about her life before NPH is living on the streets and spending a lot of time with many strange people. She rarely went to school and had to take care of her younger siblings. She was 9 when she and her siblings joined our family in Guatemala. Although she did not have adequate reading skills at the time, she now has aspirations to become a nurse. “I have a dream and know that I can achieve it with the help of my caregivers and the support I receive at NPH,” says Felicitas. “There would not have been many opportunities in my life if I had not come to NPH.” *The child’s name and photos have been changed for legal reasons. 30 for 30 Sponsorship Drive with NPH USA coming soon!
