CHAIRMAN’S WELCOME THE AUSTRALIAN TURF CLUB AT OUR HOME HERE IN THIS GLOBAL CITY OF SYDNEY WELCOMES ALL MEDIA TO ONE OF THE WORLD’S BEST THOROUGHBRED RACING CARNIVALS. The six-week Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival at Rosehill Gardens and Royal Randwick features a suite of some of the most famous and highest rated races in international racing. From the iconic Longines Golden Slipper Stakes and Carnival at Rosehill Gardens, to Australia’s highest rated race for the past three years in the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Royal Randwick, the eyes of the racing world focus on Sydney this March and April. With Australia’s best horses, jockeys and trainers, the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival is attracting competitors from the Northern Hemisphere, including some of the biggest stables in the UK and Japan, along with the great strength of New Zealand’s renowned racing industry. More than $37 million in prizemoney and trophies, including 18 Group 1 races amongst 48 Group or Listed events, will be won this Autumn. Week in and week out you will be the witness to millions of people across Australia and beyond as the stories of these horses and their connections take centre stage. Added to this great action on the track comes a host of fashion, food and entertainment that makes the Sydney Autumn Racing Carnival one of Australia’s premier social, sporting and entertainment destinations. We are thrilled this year to host Sydney’s first Pink Raceday on Chandon Ladies Day at Rosehill Gardens, featuring the Pink Fashion Lunch supporting the McGrath Foundation. We encourage all racegoers to wear a touch of pink on this day. Music legend Jon Stevens will rock Longines Golden Slipper Day as Western Sydney comes together for one of its biggest events of the year, while Hot Dub Time Machine features on The Championships Day 2 - Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes Day. At Rosehill Gardens we re-introduce the Golden Palms, and at Royal Randwick, a new French-inspired space Le Petit Pony Club. Racegoers will have the opportunity to shine at the Fashion Chute and the prestigious Longines Prize for Elegance competitions across both tracks. And further into this guide you will see a host of corporate hospitality spaces, Members Reserve areas and a choice of general admission precincts to suit all tastes for the ultimate raceday experience. We look forward to seeing you trackside. Matt McGrath Australian Turf Club Chairman 02
