Due to its inertness, ImerCare® PerlWhite 19 is compatible with other toothpaste ingredients and
particularly therapeutic agents such as fluoride.
Only 2% ImerCare® PerlWhite 19 is necessary to boost calcium carbonate performance (Pellicle
Cleaning Ratio: +15%), helping to clean the teeth without resulting in premature erosion of the
enamel and dentin.

Cleaning and polishing performance of ImerCare® PerlWhite 19 in a
silica based toothpaste formulation
ImerCare® PerlWhite 19 was tested in conjunction with a synthetic silica in a typical whitening
toothpaste formulation.
The formulation containing 2% ImerCare® PerlWhite 19 and synthetic silica showed better cleaning
and polishing performance compared with the reference formulation containing only synthetic
silica (Pellicle Cleaning Ratio: +3%, Enamel Polishing Potential: +30%). Relative Dentin Abrasion
values (-10%) demonstrated that the toothpaste with PerlWhite 19 is less damaging in terms of
dentin wear than the reference.
