Spring Summer 2021
In true Nomads spirit this season takes us across the
globe to discover new artisan techniques and blend
them with prints and colours inspired by our native
Cornwall. Fresh coastal tones are met with fiery
hues and peppery pinks to create a collection of
easy-to-wear seasonal staples you’ll come back to time
and again.
Our fabrics this season are as soft and comfortable as
ever with the addition of cotton chambray giving you Organic Cotton & Natural Fibres
even more style options to choose from. We haven’t

Traditional Craft
Hand Process
Tie-dye is one of the oldest and most
traditional methods of ‘printing’ for textiles
still widely practised in India today.
Every pattern that is created has its own
unique meaning - some are especially dyed
for brides, while others represent different
elements of nature.
The tie dye process involves using thread
to tie off small pieces of fabric in intricate
patterns. After the tying is complete the
cloth is then dipped in dye. The tied sections
remain undyed, resulting in a one of a kind
‘printed’ textile.
At Nomads, we have always celebrated this
traditional artisan technique and our skilled
fair trade partners use azo free dyes to
create contemporary tie dye designs that
experiment with pattern, scale, and colour.

Once again, we’ve used the wonderful
eco-fibre Lyocell in our collection, which is the
base for our Zen print, this season.
(pg14-15 Zen Pomegranate)
Super soft and naturally hypoallergenic Lyocell
is a plant-based fibre made from sustainably
harvested tree pulp. The fibre is created using a
closed-loop system making it economical in its
use of energy and natural resources. It’s also fully
biodegradable.
Whilst we’re big fans of Lyocell’s green
credentials, we can’t forget to mention it has a
beautifully soft texture and drape too.
Naturally breathable, lightweight, and
comfortable, Lyocell has an extremely smooth
surface that sits beautifully to flatter every figure

Traditional Textile
Resist dye process
Ikat is a dyeing technique that has its origins
in many places around the world. The skilled
technique is used to create a characteristic
‘blurred’ fabric design, a result of the extreme
difficulty the weaver has lining up the dyed
yarns so that the pattern comes out perfectly
in the finished cloth.
It is created by resist dyeing bundles of yarn
prior to weaving into cloth. This season we
have worked with our talented artisans in
