LOOKING TO A BRIGHTER FUTURE THE LAST FEW YEARS HAVE BEEN DIFFICULT FOR EVERYBODY. WITHOUT BEING ABLE TO HOLD EVENTS TO raise awareness and also hold events for our Gold Star Families, with the return of Patriot Week we are putting together a strong, lively calendar of events. As our community slowly returns to the stable norms that we knew before the pandemic, Massachusetts Fallen Heroes continues to serve the needs of our Gold Star Families and Veterans. We are in the process of completing the Eric Emond Center of Excellence (ECE); a state-of-the-art workspace for Veterans and Gold Star Family entrepreneurs. This year our Memorial Dinner will be held at the elegant and spacious Encore Boston Harbor. We will proudly highlight the service, support, and dedication of a select few distinguished members of our community. We are honored to have Governor Charlie Baker attend as our honoree. In keeping with our annual tradition, we are presenting five awards that are in the name of local heroes who have given their life for our nation. This year’s recipients have set an incredibly high standard for service, volunteerism, generosity, and community building. With hundreds of local citizens, Veterans, and Gold Star family members in attendance, we are confident that this year’s dinner will be one of our finest and most accomplished events. ACCOMPLISHING THE IMPOSSIBLE IN 2016—JUST SIX SHORT YEARS AFTER PLANS FOR A TRIBUTE TO HONOR THE BRAVE SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN who gave their lives defending our freedoms in the Global War on Terrorism were first discussed, Massachusetts Fallen Heroes achieved the virtually impossible. In the face of countless challenges, and reflecting the strength and resilience of those men and women that came together with passion and vision in 2010, the co-founders and Gold Star Families completed the project that was anticipated to span almost two decades.
PATRIOT WEEK PATRIOT WEEK WAS ESTABLISHED IN 2016 BY MASSACHUSETTS FALLEN HEROES AS A LEAD-IN TO Memorial Day and to also complement the dedication of our Memorial in Seaport. Patriot Week officially starts on Armed Forces Day; a tribute to the hard work and steadfast dedication by the men and women currently serving in our Armed Forces. It is designed as a week of events that promote awareness to our mission and organization, while also creating a social movement to remind today’s society that Memorial Day is far more than retail blowout sales and barbeques. Our goal is to educate and inspire the citizens of Massachusetts about patriotism, sacrifice, and freedom, and to do so without any political agenda. Memorial Day is about the sacrifice made by our brave service members. We continue to spread that message through community engagement, social events, and educational platforms to help all of our community realize that Memorial Day is EVERYDAY for our Gold Star Families.

THE TRAGIC LOSS OF OUR CO-FOUNDER, SFC ERIC MICHAEL EMOND, IN 2018
roused our drive and deepened our grasp of the meaning of sacrifice. Unknowingly, Eric
had planned his own memorial. Though he may have physically departed, he left behind
a doctrine of respect and tribute. We pay tribute to Eric by establishing another legacy in
his Honor: The Sergeant First Class Eric Michael Emond Center For Excellence (ECE). This
is the next step in our mission to Support and Empower those we serve.
This state-of-the-art haven will house InnoVets Boston allowing us to Honor our Fallen
with more depth and Gold Star Family participation than ever. The future of the ECE
includes a new 5,600 square foot space and will also include our first interactive memorial.
