"Courage, sacrifice, determination, commitment, toughness, heart, talent, guts. That's what little girls are made of; the heck with sugar and spice." Soul Surfer: A True Story of Faith Bethany Hamilton The Girl Scout Advantage Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan lays the foundation that gives our girls the courage, confidence, and character to truly make the world a better place. Girl Scouts is THE organization for girls who seek bold adventures, and who want to be decision- makers, today and into the future. Girl Scouts Heart of Michigan upholds the values of more than a century of Girl Scouting. As our girls change and grow, we grow with them, providing the opportunities they request for new experiences, and learning new things. Research tells us* that girls gain more benefits, from higher future aspirations to better self concepts, in a single-sex environment like the Girl Scouts, where ever-present societal pressures are not a distraction or hindrance. In this way, girls can best prepare to make the world a better place as bold and courageous citizens. Be a sister to every Girl Scout.
