Introducing the system designed to revolutionize the management of early stage breast cancer STEREOTACTIC BODY RADIATION THERAPY Noninvasive Breast Immobilization & Prone Positioning 4
Creating New Possibilities for Breast Cancer Treatment Born out of the vision to extend the dosimetric benefits of stereotactic radiotherapy to patients undergoing breast conserving treatment, GammaPodTM is a new precision tool with the potential to change the way early stage breast cancer is managed. The ability to safely and confidently deliver a focal dose of radiation to a target within the breast is giving clinicians the opportunity to elevate the role of breast radiotherapy in managing patients with early-stage disease. With GammaPod, radiation oncologists have a new solution for delivering ultra-accelerated courses of adjuvant stereotactic partial breast irradiation, neoadjuvant treatments at ablative GammaPod combines a continuously rotating, 25-source irradiation unit with 15 mm, 25 mm collimators and dynamic table motion dose levels and reducing tumor bed boosts to a single fraction during treatment to paint the radiation dose to the target. for WBI patients. NONINVASIVE Immobilization and Stereotactic Localization The GammaPod breast cup system is designed to provide secure immobilization of the affected breast and ensures setup reproducibility of the patient between imaging and treatment. The two-cup design allows air from between the cups to be evacuated using a suction pump to create a vacuum seal. Many cup sizes are available. Inner Cup Silicone Flange Affected breast conforms to the shape Adheres the breast cup system of the lightweight inner cup when air is to the patient’s chest while joining the evacuated from between the cups for inner and outer cups vacuum-assisted immobilization Outer Cup Fiducial Wire Rigid construction to minimize breast Stereotactic localization tool embedded motion when the cup is docked to the in the outer cup used to create a 3D imaging and treatment tables stereotactic coordinate system Efficient Clinical Workflow for Same D • Breast cup locks to • Breast cup adheres to imaging couch chest wall with adhesive • Imager loader lifts, • Suction pump creates a rotates patient from mild negative pressure, standing to prone minimizing breast motion position and transfers throughout imaging and Immobilize treatment Scan patient couch to CT table 5
DOSE DISTRIBUTIONS MATTER A highly conformal dose distribution with sharp falloff. Uniform target coverage. Low doses to the whole breast volume. Low heart doses, even with minimal spacing from the target. It’s a difference you can see. Heart 40 Gy (8 Gy x 5 fractions) Dosimetric Example - Left Sided Case Fraction 1 PTV: 53.37 cc Heart Chest Wall Rx: 8 Gy to V5: 0.6% Dmax: 64 cGy 95% of PTV Dmean: 11 cGy Rib Dmax: 41 cGy PTV d e Day Imaging, Planning and Treatment • Single click stereotactic localization • Breast cup locks to treatment couch as • Clinician contours VOIs, patient stands on enters prescription treatment loader • TPS develops plan with • Loader rotates patient Plan optimal travel path of table for delivery Treat • Treatment delivered 6
Rethinking “Value” in Breast Radiotherapy for Providers and Patients GammaPod aligns with the goals of today’s USMK18GR01-1 initiatives to transform the healthcare system. Consider the impact that the shift to GammaPod stereotactic radiotherapy could make in meeting the needs for high-quality, cost-effective and patient friendly breast cancer care. The shift to noninvasive external beam treatments with highly conformal dose distributions delivered in less time has the potential to drive value for all stakeholders. OPTIMIZED FOR BREAST CANCER NONINVASIVE SHORT COURSE POTENTIAL BENEFITS Quality Comfort • Minimizing dose to the whole breast • Noninvasive immobilization and treatment volume, heart and lungs • Automated prone positioning • Confidence in targeting accuracy Efficiency Convenience • Shortening treatment to between one and five fractions • Fewer visits to the clinic • Improving patient throughput • Once daily treatments www.xcision.com 7
