will be so this year.
K+ is a 2 year programme of events for Year 12 students from underrepresented backgrounds designed to empower
them and equip them with the skills, resources and experience to access research-intensive universities. Students
apply for a place on one of eight ‘subject streams’ and the programme includes:

    • A range of academic sessions to develop their subject knowledge
    • University and A Level study skills sessions
    • A week-long non-residential summer school in Summer 2020
Along with a range of other events.
Due to COVID-19, events will be held virtually, we hope to transition to in-person events, but this action will be
directed by government guidelines. We have successfully help virtual events so we assure you that you the
full K+ experience will not be lost!
Completion of the full programme, including the writing of an academic assignment graded by a King’s College
London PhD student provides a range of benefits including:
      • Excellent experience of the subject they are interested in studying
      • Entitling students to a reduced offer of up to 2 grades lower to study at KCL, for courses other than
         Medicine and Dentistry
      • Eligibility for a K+ start up bursary of up to £1000 in their first year, for students who go on to enrol
         at King’s
To be eligible, students must:

    • Study at a non-selective state school in a Greater London borough; and
    • Have achieved a minimum of 8 GCSE’s grade 4-9 (including English and Maths), including 5 GCSE’s at grades

Care experienced students, Black Caribbean students, Young carers and Gypsy, Roma or Traveller students, even
those who do not fully meet our GCSE requirements
