SIM FENG MING, RENE (MR) hello@renesim.sg RESUME EXPERIENCE Singapore GP Pte Ltd July 2013–present Senior Designer (January 2015–present) Graphic Designer (January 2014– December 2014) Freelance Graphic Designer/Artworker (July 2013–September 2013) I started as a freelance designer doing mainly adaptations and pre-press production of artworks for the Advertising & Marketing department. I joined them as a full-time designer shortly after and have since managed and supported the creative requirements of the various stakeholders. My work here involves a wide range of projects and skill sets, from business cards to large format out-of-home prints, as well as environmental setups and digital marketing. As a senior designer, my responsibilities also include leading and guiding the younger designers/interns and project management. SPH Magazines Pte Ltd May 2012–July 2013 Graphic Designer (October 2012–July 2013) Freelance Graphic Designer (May 2012–September 2012) My key responsibilities as a Creative Services designer included the conceptualisation, art direction and design execution of advertorial works. During the course of my work, I worked with illustrators, photographers, DI artists and stylists to ensure that the quality of work is maintained and that monthly deadlines are met. This exposed me to invaluable experiences with production on a bigger scale and working with external parties throughout the design process. Some of the clients I have worked with include ION Orchard, Montblanc, Robinsons, Wisma Atria, Amore Pacific and Knowledge Universe. IDEO Singapore March 2012–May 2012 Freelance Graphic Designer/Artworker I had a chance to work with the team at IDEO on a set of seven books for a government ministry. My work was to translate and adapt existing and new content into a new layout. I was also involved in the conceptualisation and execution of the cover images of the books. The experience with IDEO taught me about the exciting possibilities of design thinking and storytelling in the design process. On My Own September 2006–present Freelance Designer/Photographer I am an active freelance photographer, mainly shooting for nightlife venues as well as the occasional corporate and wedding events. I also provide design services and have handled several projects which include editorial work and digital work such as web and interface design. Sim Feng Ming, Rene Resume 1
