fund-a-kid Paddle Raise This year’s Born to be Wild guest speaker is Cathleen Doctor, a long-time Boys & Girls Club parent. Cathleen is a proud mom of two daughters whose experiences at the Club not only changed their life as a family but our community as well. Cathleen will share her story as a single mom raising two daughters, Tasha and Faith, and the peace that she experienced in finding a safe place for her children – each being unique and gifted in their own right. She will speak to her experience and offer valuable perspective on what it meant to be on the receiving end of the support and understanding provided by the Clubs and their staff. Through Club programs for the girls, as well as family nights and Club volunteer opportunities for all three of them, Cathleen found Boys & Girls Clubs to be a home away from home for her girls. Cathleen is now extending her experience to others. “Having a foundation of community support with a team of people that encourages positive self-development, individuality, and compassionate understanding is important to me,” said Cathleen. “So, it’s not surprising I would make the decision to work at the Club supporting my family.” Donors like you make Cathleen’s experience possible. Support for Boys & Girls Clubs changes the lives of youth and families in our community. Thank you for supporting Fund-a-Kid at the 2020 Born to be Wild Auction. 14
