SENIOR PRESENTATIONS: CLASS OF 2021 Senior Presentations are a capstone project that every senior completes at Mill Springs Academy as a part of their Senior Research & Composition class. In the fall, students choose a topic of interest, a passion project, an issue of social import, or one of investigatory significance to examine, define, research, and then compose a research paper. In the spring, they take their fall research and break it down into components to illuminate and present. Senior Presentations are indeed a big deal in that students begin the year as high school learners, but evolve into young adults ready to tackle the world and beyond. Speeches can range from eight to twenty-five minutes, with each student working at their skill level, meeting hard deadlines to work with our Technology department and other professionals, as well as developing organization and planning skills. We are proud of the hard work these seniors have invested in their education and futures. The Seniors have lovingly chosen the Juniors who are to introduce them. The best presentation receives the “Gail J. Kreher Award” for Excellence, judged by Executive Assistant to the Head of School Cheri Harwood and Media and Technology Teacher Cindy Thorne. Please see the topics and times to join us! KEY FACTS: Within any specified time block, only presenters, their guests, Junior Announcers, and selected Staff/ Faculty will be able to be present in the Upper Great Room live due to this year's Covid restrictions. However, all teachers, eLearners, and special guests will be able to attend virtually by registering in advance. We are using the Zoom Webinars platform to host this virtual component, which is both visually professional and secure for our community. You must register and be approved to be a part of this option, and the registration window will be open from Monday, March 22 to Wednesday, March 31. Details to register will be forthcoming. You can contact Brittany and Shilpee for any questions or concerns. Also, though limited, we are happy to report there will be a hospitality room for Seniors and their guests!
