Welcome to Sefton Park Palm House, a spectacular grade II listed Victorian glasshouse, originally opened in 1896. Lovingly
restored, it makes the perfect setting for a truly magnificent wedding.
Approached through Liverpool’s beautiful Sefton Park, rising majestically over the treetops and showcasing plants from around
the world, the Palm House is available for exclusive hire.
When it comes to organising your special day, our dedicated events team will help you create a tailor-made experience as we
recognize this expression of love and commitment shared with family and friends is a truly individual and unique occasion.
So whether you are planning a small wedding or an extravaganza, we can assist you every step of the way, from choosing your
approved caterer, to organising entertainment and selecting decoration.
We invite you to come and experience the atmosphere of this wonderful Victorian treasure.
The Palm House is managed by the charity, Sefton Park Palm House Preservation Trust. If you hold your wedding here you will
be supporting the Trust in keeping this iconic building open for future generations.

Sefton Park Palm House is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies, civil partnerships and renewal of vows ceremonies. We can seat
up to 220 guests comfortably and have the traditional red carpet for brides to walk down the aisle. We also have a blue one for all you
Evertonians or for brides who prefer blue!
To book your ceremony you will need to contact Liverpool Register Office directly either by telephone on 0151 233 4978,
email registrar@liverpool.gov.uk or make a provisional booking at www.liverpool.gov.uk.
You can marry at the Palm House on:
• Monday to Thursday any time between 11am and 5pm
• Friday between 3pm and 5pm
• Saturday and Sunday from 4pm and 5pm
Your reception can run to midnight on any night of the week with the option of an extension till 1am at an additional cost.
We charge a special rate for New Year’s Eve.

• Sefton Park Palm House has ramp access to the front entrance and full disabled access in all public areas including toilets
• There is a wheelchair accessible lift to the lower ground floor where all toilets are located
• The Palm House operates a no smoking policy
• When you visit prior to your event, please use the car park by the iron bridge and walk along the avenue. The Council is
strict about not parking in front of the Palm House, but on the day of your wedding your guests can park on the driveway
leading up to the venue
• We have an allocated area for a marquee outside the Palm House but still within its grounds
• Loop induction facilities are available on request
• You can arrive by car, Routemaster, coach or horse drawn carriage, it’s up to you, it’s your day
• Guests may arrive 30 minutes prior to your agreed hire time.
Venue hire times-
Monday to Thursday – 11am till 12 midnight, Friday – 3pm till 12 midnight
Saturday and Sunday – 4pm till 12 midnight
Your party will finish at 12 midnight; however a later bar until 1am is available on request at an additional cost.

A Brief History
