ENGAGE AND PARTICIPATE Identify, engage and sustain participant involvement through quality sporting opportunities Increased quality opportunities through SDS Branches, local, regional and national partnerships. Increased opportunities to participate and compete through the delivery of a comprehensive calendar of events, projects and programmes. Building capacity to support clubs and sessions to become inclusive. ASA will hold a succession planning meeting at the end of January as the chair would like to step down in the near future. Borders Disability Sport Group have had verbal assurances that Borders Council will continue funding the 2 days of the DSDO post. Support given by RDM’s in Central and East to support to branches to address current funding situations. Tayside RDM has also supported DCDS with Robertson Trust funding application
Access funding to provide SDS are arranging a meeting with the Chair of trustees of Trefoil prior to a second administration support for SDS Amber submission in March 2019 Branches – 10 hours per month GOGA (Grampian, Fife & Forth Valley) Amber Swimming support programme for Inverness session is continuing through Celtic Funding. North Lanarkshire changed to Midlothian, Glasgow, North Green South Lanarkshire. Three sessions are continuing through investment from South Lanarkshire & Dundee Lanarkshire Leisure. Midlothian session is also continuing through council. The Northern Ireland squad will be attending, as well as one Welsh player. There will be 20 players in attendance and the camp will include training, competition and a sports psychology workshop. Reegan Stevenson (BC1) progressed to Boccia UK Transition Programme and is attending regular training camps. 2016 Rio Paralympian Kieran Steer has returned to the sport and is being supported within the Scottish programme. Reegan Stevenson (BC1), Kieran Steer (BC4) and Ross Munro (BC4) have been invited to the new UK Boccia Challenger Competitions. The first one will take place in Lilleshall in February. Education opportunities and Mind-set/psychology workshop will be delivered by Dr Simon Petrie at the residential support for pathway development Green boccia camp in February. Participate in Bowls Scotland Scotland will host an Indoor Home National Championships, under a new format, as National Championships agreed with the Home nations working group. This will be held from 22-24 March 2019. Sport Specific Performance Support the establishment of a CP Football Working Group meeting scheduled for 28 November cancelled by SFA. Football Scottish Cerebral Palsy Football Amber Alternative date will be circulated when Disability post has been filled. Para Football Association Working Group meeting scheduled for 3 March. Training for performance squad National Squad continue to train monthly at the Scottish CP Football Performance and develop performance pathway Amber Centre at Stenhousemuir FC. National Squad competing in the SFA Pan Disability and competition League under the Stenhousemuir banner.
