GR7         RACE PROGRAMME

ADDITIONAL SAILING INSTRUCTIONS:

BEAUFORT 1
All Beaufort Cup competitors shall compete at VCW as stated in GR 7.4
Warning Signal for the Fastnet Race will be at 0955 hrs. VHF Channel 73 Starting area is to the
north of Haulbowline Island off Cobh.

BEAUFORT 2
The starting line will be between a Red & White pole on the CV and an Orange Mark (or a second
CV with a Red and White pole identified by ICF “D”) to the north. An IDM may be laid off both CV
and yachts shall not pass between it and either CV when starting.

BEAUFORT 3
Course to be sailed for the Fastnet Race is as follows: (Admiralty Chart 2424 or Imray C 56)
START – NO. 20 BUOY (S) – NO. 18 (S) – CORK BUOY (S) – FASTNET ROCK (P) – CORK BUOY (P)

FINISH – Proceed from Cork Buoy to leave Harbour Navigation Buoy E 2 to Port and when Roches
Point Light House bears 090 degrees magnetic note your finishing time (Ensure your time is
synchronsed with GPS/BST) A CV may be in the vicinity of the Finishing Line but will not form part of it.

BEAUFORT 4
The Time Limit will be 1500 hrs on Tuesday 12th. Yachts who do not finish within this limit will be
scored DNF.

BEAUFORT 5
Yachts that retire from the Fastnet Race, shall inform the RC by sms text to 0873190464 as soon as
possible after retiring.

BEAUFORT 6
All competitors after finishing the Fastnet race shall complete a Declaration Form giving the vessels
name, finishing time, yachts ahead and astern (if possible) and signed by the Skipper and a Member
of the Crew. This form shall be lodged at the Race Office within 2 hours of finishing.
