1720 - 2020 The Great Gathering Cork - July 2020 A Celebration of 300 years of Yachting at the Royal Cork Yacht Club In July 2020 the Royal Cork Yacht Club will celebrate The regatta will be preceded by Sea Fest and followed by 300 years of club yachting in Cork Harbour with a “Great Cork Week and a Cruise in Company along the Wild Atlantic Gathering” of yachtsmen and yachts from all around the Way so Cork Harbour will be the only place to be in July world and a key element of this Great Gathering will be a 2020. “Superyacht Regatta” with a social schedule that will well impress even the founding members of the club. Key July 2020 dates as follows 3rd to 5th – Seafest The keys dates for this Superyacht Regatta are Monday 6th 6th to 11th – Superyacht Regatta July to Saturday 11th July, 2020 and the regatta schedule 12th to 17th – Cork Week both afloat and ashore will be developed over the coming 12th to 23rd – Wild Atlantic Way Cruise in Company months in consultation with interested Superyacht owners. VOLVO Cork Week 2016 (VCW 16), IRC European Championship & Beaufort Cup GENERAL REGULATIONS GR1 STANDARD TIME D. The official measurer for VCW 16 is James Dadd ( RORC Chief Measurer). All times are in British Summer Time which is UT + 1 hour. Note 2: Try Sailing Challenge Fleet are not permitted to fly spinnakers during the regatta and will start with the Non Spinnaker Green Non Spinnaker Fleet. Note 3: Mixed Sportsboats are normally Fleet B, but will Try Sailing Challenge race with Fleet C on Tuesday 12th due to the long distance Coastal Race. 6.4 All yachts will be supplied with VCW 16 decals. These shall be applied on each side of the hull, approximately half a metre from the bow, – unless otherwise agreed in writing by the OA. 6.5 Additionally when racing, yachts (excluding IRC Sportsboat Class) shall display on their backstay their class flag as shown in these SIs 1720 - 2020
