Returning Resident Advisor: 1st Floor
Hey there!
My name is Tayah and I will be the AVM 1st floor RRA for the
2021/2022 year. I am from small-town Miami, Manitoba and I
absolutely love living on campus and getting to meet so many new
people. I’m going into the third year of my Arts degree with an
English Major and Theatre Minor. Hopefully next year I will be in the
Faculty of Education! Some of my interests include sports and
theatre (fingers crossed for the return of intramurals and in-person
productions), hiking, reading, and my new “covid hobby”, caring for
houseplants. I’m looking forward to meeting everyone and having an
excellent year!

Hi there :),
My name is Mercy Kondowe and I am from Johannesburg, South Africa. I
am returner resident advisor in AVM on the second floor. I really enjoy the
outdoors, English football (I’m a really big Man U fan), rugby, tennis,
Formula One and making origami butterflies. I really enjoy learning new
things so if you ever want to tell me cool fun facts, have a weird
conversation or want someone to talk about anything I’m always here. I
really look forward to meeting everyone in the fall and having a great year
with all of you. :)

Martin, Returning Resident Advisor: 3rd Floor Hi I’m Martin and I am the 3rd floor Resident Advisor for AVM this year! I’m from Winnipeg Manitoba and I am currently in my third year in the faculty of agriculture. I love playing video games like MarioKart, Pokemon and League of Legends. My favourite thing to wear is one of my 40+ plaid shirts, and I love watching clips from the Simpsons and Chef Ramsay’s various tv shows. Hanging out with my friends is when I’m happiest, and the most whacky! Looking forward to a wonderful year! Mufaro, Resident Advisor: 4th Floor Hey! My name is Mufaro, but you can call me Faro or Boitee and I will be your Residence Advisor for AVM. I’m from Botswana, and currently I'm studying economics. I really enjoy sports, whether it's watching them live or playing them, mostly rugby and swimming. I absolutely love to cook and bake, I'm all about experimenting in the kitchen and trying out different cuisines. So if you have something you would like for me to try out, let me know so I can learn how to whip it up. I play the ukulele and the guitar, and I absolutely love comedies. I'm really excited to meet new people, make new friends and create lasting memories. Charles, Senior Resident Advisor: 5th Floor Hey all! My name is Charles Inggao and I will be the Senior RA of 5th Floor AVM this year! I am heading into my fourth year of my general science degree. I’m still hoping to get into nursing at one point or another though. I was born in the Philippines, and now currently living in Steinbach, Manitoba. As for hobbies I LOVE indulging in a platter of sushi and a venti iced coffee, blasting music at max volume (especially in the shower), socializing/partying, and enjoy working out. Two little fun facts are: 1. I can recite half of ‘The Quiet Place’ movie, 2. I will beat you at a game of Mario Kart (Mario Kart Dorm Champion 2018-2019). I’m ecstatic for dorm 2021-2022! All the best and I hope to see and meet you all.

Hello Tigers!
My name is Arpan, and I am your 6th floor RA. I am from India and
currently studying Environmental Design in the Faculty of
Architecture. I am passionate about art, music, architecture,
photography, and basically everything that strikes my creative chord. I
am also a self-proclaimed professional ramen maker, microwave
baker, and a ukulele performer (with proficiency in 4 chords). All your
music and Netflix recommendations are highly appreciated as well.
As we are in the process of coming out of this pandemic, slowly but
steadily, this academic year is particularly special. No matter how it
unfolds, I can assure you that we will be working very hard to make
residence a fun place with numerous opportunities for you to grow.
Lastly, I wish you success in all aspects of university life and hope you
have a wonderful time.

Returning Resident Advisor: 4th Floor
Hi! My name is Oscar Lukwiya and I am from Uganda in Eastern Africa.
I will be a Returning Resident advisor at Pembina Hall and l am excited
to get to know you soon. I am in my second year of University pursuing
an undergraduate degree in Computer Science. I’m a huge fan of
several genres of electronic music, a DJ enthusiast, lover of tea and
Formula 1 supporter over the weekends. I enjoy going on walks and
occasional hikes with Spring being my favourite season of the year
because life is reborn. You would not be doing yourself a favor
challenging me to a dance off. I also watch loads of tech videos on
YouTube especially the ones by Marquese Brownlee (MKBHD) and my
favourite musician at the moment is Lost Frequencies.
I will be happy to be of assistance to you and I’m looking forward to
making new friends. A lovely school year to you all :)

Hello Pirates! My name is Isaac and I am going to be your 5th floor
Returning RA in Pembina Hall! I am originally from China but have
been all over the world so I would love to hear where you are from and
some fun facts about your hometown. ! I’m currently a 3rd year
student working towards an Agribusiness Degree here at UofM. I
absolutely LOVE sports especially basketball and soccer so feel free to
come down to the gym and join me sometime!! For my free time, I tend
to workout, play sports, or go on walks with my friends. Excited to meet
you all and have a fun year at Res!

Senior Resident Advisor: 6th Floor
Hi there!
I’m Towani (Towani is me) and I’m an international student from
Zambia. I’m in my 4th year of a Political Studies degree with a minor in
Statistics. This is also my 4th year on Res and I can’t wait to meet and
get to know you. This year, I’m super excited for Bison games because I
miss the energy around them. I also can’t wait to see a bunch of people
walking around campus! I don’t do much in my free time (I’m usually
rotating between YouTube, napping, reading and watching TikToks)
but I’m always down for a chat so be sure to reach out!
Farhan, Resident Advisor: 7th Floor Hey everyone! My name is Farhan Abrar and I come from Indonesia but I have lived in Qatar since I was 2. I have met many great people from all around the world as Qatar is a country that is rich in diversity. I am in my second year majoring in Genetics and I would like to go into research someday. I enjoy keeping my body healthy by going to the gym or playing other types of sports such as tennis, soccer, badminton and many more. During my free time, I like to hangout with my friends, play video games, watch movies/shows, or play the guitar. I am mediocre at playing the guitar but somewhere in an alternate universe I am playing like my idol B. B. King :) I think this is an uncommon thing to say, but I really love the winters here! Sheena, Returning Resident Advisor: 8th Floor Hi there! I’m Sheena and I am a fourth year majoring in Cell and Developmental Biology. I really enjoy spending time outdoors and I love observing wildlife. Before things get frosty you might be able to find me outside trying to catch frogs (and releasing them of course). I originally hail from Los Angeles, California so please forgive me if I ever tell you the temperature in Fahrenheit! I also really love memes and I probably have a meme for any situation imaginable; just ask I’d love to share! I’m so excited for the year to start and I can’t wait to meet and get to know all of you! Ahnaf, Resident Advisor: 9th Floor Hi everyone, my name is Ahnaf Tahmid Reza. You can call me Ahnaf and I am the RA for the 9th floor of PHR. I am originally from Bangladesh, a small yet fierce, country next to India. I am a 3rd year student studying at the Asper School of Business planning to major in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. I am passionate about sports, especially soccer and my favorite team is Manchester United. I also love photography, so let me know if you want me to capture a special moment for you. You’ll also find me playing FIFA at every possible opportunity, so maybe I could play and beat one of you at it haha. I hope that we can all bond together well and make some great memories this year. Misan, Resident Advisor: 10th Floor Hello Everyone! My name is Misan and I am super thrilled to be your Resident Advisor this year in Pembina hall. I am from Nigeria, and I have lived in Winnipeg for about two years now. I am an international student going into my second year where I am pursuing a degree in criminology (major) and psychology (minor). I love travelling, going to the gym, hanging out with friends, watching anime, and skateboarding. I also love learning languages, English is still my first and only fluent language, but I've also been learning Spanish for a while now and I plan on learning many other languages like Japanese in future. I have a goal to travel to every country in the world one day. I love learning about other people's culture, and I really look forward to getting to know everyone especially those on my floor. I hope we have a wonderful year. See you all in the fall! Olivia, Resident Advisor: 11th Floor Hello! My name is Olivia Plotnik and I am from Minnesota! I am a current sophomore studying history in hopes of becoming a middle school teacher. Growing up I played golf and tennis and now I work at a golf course teaching kids to do the same! My comfort movies are Gladiator, Shawshank Redemption, and Hook, all three being a must have at a movie marathon. I am looking forward to study groups, coffee dates, and meeting everyone this year! My name is Rui Yan and I am the Resident Advisor for the 2021/22 year in Pembina Hall. I come from China, and I am currently in my third year, studying applied Mathematics with Statistics opt. Some of my hobbies include listening to music, reading novels, and watching movies, which can help me reduce pressure of studying. Laine, Resident Advisor: 13th Floor Hey there, my name is Laine, and I am an RA in PHR this year! I’m from Fisher Branch, Manitoba which is a small farming community in the Interlake. I am a third-year student working towards my agribusiness degree. I enjoy golfing, spending time at the gym, hanging with friends and family, watching Netflix (usually when I should be studying), and reading. I’m also a bit of a history junky and love learning about new things. I’m always down to talk, watch a movie, or study so don’t be shy. I cannot wait to get to know everyone this fall!
